A puzzle and survival horror like no other, it's just brilliant.

This game always finds a way to scare you, there are so many that when you thought you've seen them all... AAAAAAAHHH!!! got you again.

You take control of Alex Roivas, a female police officer that is investigating the bizarre murder of her grandfather in his mansion. The place is full of secrets and mystery and all of them can only be unlock using the Eternal Darkness Tome, is a book built of human skin and bones, contains black magic spells like force fields, summons, healings, etc. Within this dark book, you'll read the story of people of the past that were chosen by destiny to fight against an ancient evil that plots to dominate the world. The stoy have many twists, there is a moment in the game were you take control of the main villian, and let's you choose one of three artifacts, depending of the artifact you choose a different evil god will menace the world, that let's you change the story of the game but just a bit, most remain the same, win the game 3 times using the same memory and choosin different artifacts every time and you'll get a secret ending.

The pages of the book are hidden and scattered in the mansion, every story gives clues of the location of the next page and so a new story, every time you read a story, you'll be automaticly be in control of the character of the story and you will play with him until his story end. There are 12 playable characters all have unique weapons and ratings of life, magic and sanity.

Most of people already are familiar with the life and magic bars, but in this game there is a Sanity bar, it determines your mental and perception status, if this bar is full, you'll see the world as normal as it is, but if is runnin low, you'll start to see hallucinations and nightmares that will make the game more difficult and if you don't have sanity at all, you'll start losing life too.

Like in most survival horror games, you fight your way thrue against zombies, but this zombie either look like mummies or they just don't have any skin at all, they low your sanity by staring at you and they of course attack, you can mutilate them, cut his heard, arms or torso. When a zombie is down, you can perform a finishing move that restores some of your sanity.

There are almost no bosses in this game, but the only two bosses in this game are word fighting.

Conclution: this is the best horror game since resident evil, a gamecube classic
