In the year of a hockey lockout that doesn't look to end anytime soon, Sega gives us the best hockey sim of all time.While its not too much of an improvement over last years version, the graphics, frame rate, animations, season mode, and sound have all been fine tuned making this even better than an already great 2k4 hockey game. The game has a ton of unlockables and minigames to enjoy that add to the overall playability and is perfect with a few friends. Also the games online mode is very solid, despite some lag on basic consumer dsl lines is still very good in its own right and was usually lag free and full of opponents. Overall if your a stat hungry hockey fan looking for the perfect blend of fun and true hockey physics and reality, look no further than espn Nhl 2k5
