Without a doubt, the best hockey video game I have ever played.

At first, I thought, just another hockey game, but this game is definitely too good to pass up. With advanced control options and so many features you won't even be able to remember what they are. The only flaw are the few graphical problems in the game, such as some minor clipping and animation issues, but even those are rare and easily ignorable. There are over 12 minigames and most of them are pretty fun, too. There are challenges as well. You can gain tokens by completing challenges, which can be used to purchase new arenas or cheats, which gives you a pretty good incentive to complete the challenges. The best part of ESPN NHL 2K5 is simply the gameplay. Easy to learn controls make way for advanced controls once you're ready, and moving to higher difficulties is always fun - a new challenge added to an already great game is always welcome. I used to play hockey, and I appreciate the wealth of defensive moves and skills you can use in this game. If you like hockey, or just want a cheap, great hockey game, this is it.
