I love NHL2k5. There are a few things I need to clear up though before I start praising it. This product was rushed. It was definitely released before it shoudl have been and there are some bad freezing bugs that should have been eliminated before release. Even though it's nothing big to get through and a quick google search will tell you how to fix it, it's aggravating that they claim this is a finished product. There are little intricasies in the game that, just like any game you have played, make it a hassle, but they aren't too hard to get by. Graphics bug me, becuase that players at times look ridiculous and unrealistic. I guess EASports must have patented their technology. Those things aside, this is the best hockey game I have ever played. There is no other gmae that has ever been made that will represent this sport the way 2k5 does. There is strategy in the game, from line matchups to different breakout strategies and they aren't superficial. EA has these things but they do no change the game. These ones do, powerplays are different and work better and forchekcs will be noticable. There isn't enough I can say about this game. Managing you team in a season is great, and once you find your niche in this game and learn to play the way that the AI does you will have the time of your life. In college me and me friend used to have a few beers while playing like 3 games back to back to back (during the week, no on weekends) and that was great.
