"Check your bargain bin"
Ok so all I hear is 2k this 2k that on Madden forums and articles so,

I went back and revisited NFL 2K5!
i bought this game back in 2004 for $20. Only because it was cheaper than Madden 05 (which I bought shortly after)

The graphics were great for a game at that time although the players helmets looked stretched vertically. Also player faces werent so good. The jersey designs, wrinkles, and equipment however had an advantage over Madden 05/

The presentation in this game will blow you away. I mean this game has the Swami! Chris Friggin Berman and a very well replicated ESPN broadcast along with great halftime and postgame highlight shows. They even went so far to add player interviews, although the stuff they say is silly and often you would have a white player sound like a black player and vice versa, it was cool to see something like that.

The Crib! Pointless but still has me customizing it. Putting all the Eagles decorations all around, hanging a Charlie Garner or McNabb jersey on the walls. Heck "No hard Feelings!" I'll even put up a T.O. jersey being that he did have a great year with the Eagles.

And now for what I feel was the only downfall to this game...........its dreaded GAMEPLAY! The controls are just stupid, tap A repeatedly to run faster, whatever happened to holding a button? B is to spin (typical) X to tackle (typical) but this one gets me, to intercept a ball guess what button you push.
Y right? NO its LB on 360 controller! thats just horrible, in impulse I go for a pick with Y since , "I dont know, EVERY football game i remember playing was Y!!!" So I press Y the defender goes for a bad swat, I get burned for 6 and look dumb. Should ahve pressed the obvious one huh? LB? Really?
Plus player ratings are horrible, not as good as Maddens was. Jevon Kearse had a 95 spead but Terrell Owens had a 88? McNabb a 82? So your tellin me the Freak Jevon Kearse can outrun T.O.?

Now the A.I. isnt very smart. I can throw the Ball Deep to any receiver whenever I want and i do mean ANY receiver. Im Talkin Todd Pinkston!
There are an insane amount of drops, not to mention the player just being way off. The ball will hit them in the shoulder, head elbow whatever!
Dont even think about throwing the ball to a RB in the backfeild, they make an unnecesary diving catch that will surley lose you some yards. The throwing in this game is bad, players look as if their catapulting the ball downfeild. And throwing off the run is a last resort because it has horrible accuracy. Also scrambling with the QB is too easy and defenses never catch on, but the thing that tickes me off is when you scramble passed the line of scrimmage and your WRs keep running thier routes instead of blocking.

I describe this game as a love-hate thing: I love its attention to detail in the broadcast. But, I wasnt pleased with its controls and gameplay, I liked the stat tracking in this game as well.

Although I will say its not the greatest football game ever, it is solid

P.S. I'm not an EA "fanboy" so dont accuse me, and I will state that I absolutley hated Madden 09!
