Best Of Class 2004

User Rating: 9.5 | ESPN NBA 2K5 PS2
This game is all around the best basketball game on the market this season. Now don't get me wrong, the game still has its flaws, but the overall gameplay and the presentation place this game above the others. The graphics, the presentation, and the commentary are stellar. The commentary does have it's flaws sometimes, such as saying things that don't happen, like an out of bounds call. The "Association" mode, or franchise mode, is really indepth, and can be repetitive, but its still a nice addition. The game also offers highlights at halftime and after the game just like the NFL game does. Stuart Scott is much better to have in this game than Kevin Frasier was last year. Online mode works well too. Noticed no lag at all and smooth gameplay. Some cheap players I notice online though, especially Dirk Nowitzki, that man can nail any shot, any where, now granite he's good, but he's not god. The biggest flaw online I see which is a small thing is shooting free throws. They're a pain in the butt in the first place, but there's lag in pressing the button to shoot. Albeit the little things, this is the best basketball game on the market this year. The simulation aspect and play calling on the fly, and being able to post up better make this defeat NBA Live by a longshot. And did I mention, it's only $20?
