Eragon isn't Lord of the Rings, but it's a pretty solid game, adventure/swordfighting gamers should enjoy it. This game is probably more pleasable if you know and like the story of Eragon, but even if you don't, it's still worth checking out. The environments are simply gorgeous, and are even more enjoyable when playing and battling through them with a friend. The 2-player adds to the game greatly, and you'll want to explore that before making your final judgement on this game. Their are a limited number of combos, but enough to keep you through the game's short length, and so does the magic attacks. But don't back away just because it's short and level related. It has considerable replay value, and you could also go back to collect all the hidden eggs, which unlock a bonus level. Their are four playable characters all throughout the game, Eragon, Brom, and Murtagh (awesome), cover the land levels (although Eragon will always have to be one of the 2 people) and you can take flight as Saphira in about 3 of the game's levels. Your bow is also a nifty addition, and greatly important. Don't back away from gamespot's 4.4 (we all get a little crazy sometimes), the PS2 version is very solid. (The PSP version sucks, you always play as Saphira.) If any questions or game help is wanted, IGN.com is the place, but I'm also open (FAVRE09.) Anyone who is desperate for a good swordfighting game, be my guest and buy this game, but if you are unsure, rent it first. Most likely, you'll enjoy it, but it's possible a few of you won't. I liked it, and if any of you have followed what I like through Gamespot.com, then you'll like it too. BUY/RENT IT!
I came to want this game after I saw a commercial of Eragon jumping on some moster's shoulders and attacking it's neck. I thought the game would be full of cool moments like that. I realized after a few levels that it wa... Read Full Review
