It contains stuff pulled from other games, but I still think it is great.

User Rating: 9.3 | Ephemeral Fantasia PS2
Graphics: The graphics provided in this game are quite good; in fact, I think they are pretty good for a game released in 2001, I think that the only thing that could possibly make this better is voiceovers. I find the magic graphics and animations quite appealing to the eye, especially a few certain parts…, well where was I? The regular attack graphics and animations are quite good as well, I LOVE some of Mouse’s sword attacks, and they look so cool!

The character quality is quite good too, I find often find myself being impressed at how nice the characters are done. I REALLY like anime, so this game appeals to me a lot; this is definitely a game for anime fans. Some of the monsters look pretty detailed… and weird…. So I’d definitely say the graphics are worth playing for, as well as for game play. Game play: The game play is RPG material, seeing as some of the game play qualities were taken from other games like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and The Legend of Zelda; yes I’ve played it even though I have never owned a Game Cube, snes, nes, or Nintendo 64 in my entire life. The active battle system, which enables you choose attacks, cast magic, use items, and change strategy in real time, is quite a nice feature, but it is take from those games like I said.

Sound: The sound is kind of repetitive at times, I don’t like that. But the music is quite nice though when it isn’t completely repeating itself all the time. The songs that you can play on Pattimo sound pretty good too…, when you’re not messing up the chords and making it sound terrible that is.

Value: I would say even though this game takes stuff from other games, it is still a good game that any anime or RPG lover will want to play. I certainly like this game; in fact, I hope they come out with a second eventually. But a second Ephemeral Fantasia is unlikely…, they might have released one in Japan, but they probably won’t release it here in the U.S.
