Project Entropia is challenging and immersive and somewhat ambitious and thats what makes it a great game.

User Rating: 8.9 | Entropia Universe PC
Your first step into the Project Entropia universe begins with the creation of your character; which one can modify quite freely, from hair to body to face. This enables you to create an avatar unique to your own tastes. This is when the adventure begins as you appear on the starting town of Port Atlantis. It is quite a daunting start to begin playing and the challenges are numerous.

The first aspect of the game that is most evident and the most ambitious is the real-world economy; basically one must deposit money to purchase various equipment with. 1$ converts to 10PEDs or Project Entropian Dollars. While many might see this as an expensive game it is in fact free to download and if not satisfied a 'player' may withdraw his / her money back. Obviously, this creates the illusion to some that there is easy money to be earned which is far from the truth!

Gameplay : Extremely difficult and takes a person a long time to adapt to the game's style of play. One can pursue many careers which include Hunting, mining, Crafting and even Trading. All these proffessions apart from Trading have different skills to be earned as well, and it takes a long time to 'efficiently' raise them since one must bear in mind that real money is involved! Various updates are applied every month or so with new content and bug fixes, as well as special events or quests that is available to the player base. Highly addictive!

Graphics : Not as impressive as most of the MMORPG's recently released but then again Project Entropia has been around for a much longer time. The environment is ever-changing from deserts to ice plains, mountains to meadows. Graphics have been steadily increasing which is also a good sign.

Sound : Somewhats disappointing although the animals one encounters do emit various noises and some are quite funny. The ingame music is not bad although it sometimes could get annoying. Ingame jukeboxes are available and they have quite good tracks.

Value : its technically a free game but in practical view it is not since to really enjoy the game one must depsoit at least a small initial sum.

Tilt : I think Project Entropia is revolutionary and extremely addictive. I myself have been playing it since October 2003 ( I go by the name of 'Quickening' ingame) and I feel it has never got the recognition it truly deserves. Most other games lie forgotten after 2 years of playing but Project Entropia leaves a lasting impression and it adapts beautifully with each coming month. A must try game!!
