We chat up the producer of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West to learn the first few details of this intriguing game.
The Monkey King is very popular, several novels, comics, and animation series are loosely written on his legend. To anyone who've seen Jackie Chan and Jet Li's movie "The Lost Kingdom", the Monkey King is featured in this film also. Hopefully, the game will do it justice.
this game looks great!
I'm waiting for this!
Sounds like a good game.
anarchy to the west !
going to buy it must have game i think hehe
Very nice, quite interesting..
Game looks very interesting.
i love the chinese fairy tale of Hanuman the Monkey King, i hope you get to use his trademark longstaff
i was hoping that when someone finally decided to take on a monkey king game it would've been closer to the source but I'll take this... looks promising! what's with the hanging cloth though? Give him a tail or not man.

am i the only one who hates these boring as hell crappy dev interviews that show no actual gameplay footage, anybody can say thier game"s going to be the best thing since breast implants,no offense to the people responsible for my fav pastime but im really not intrested in hearing them drone on about game features,i can learn more about the game and if im going to be intrested in the title within 5 sec of seeing the game in action than i can from some beardy bloke talking about it
Yeah, this looks like a great deal to me. Gonna keep an eye on it.
Enslaved + Monkey = Win
Even though Heavenly Sword was short, every moment of that game was emotionally engaging. It was one short game that I actually didn't complain about its length. This looks like they put a lot of thought into the world, so I wouldn't be so skeptical.
JJB03- What are you expecting? He explained just fine to me...I don't require a hyperactive spokesman to "convince" me. You are the pulse that keeps infomercial heart beating. Also don't even try to pretend like you even know what "Journey to the West" is. At least try and be like Dante's Inferno haters and sound like you know what you are talking about.
the producer is so bad at talking about his own game and convincing us it is good should employ someone to do it for him
wtf why set it in the future and wreck a decent sounding novel?
Great cant wait
Looks quite unique. Keeping an eye on it. Besides, I loved Heavenly Sword. These guys are definitely talented.
trip looks a lot like nariko. game looks good. loved heavenly sword even though it was short. looking forward to this one.
Other things based off of Journey to the West: the first part of DragonBall. As for this game I'm very sceptical, played through Heavenly Sword for the first time a couple of weeks ago and there was very little beyond the graphics that I liked about that game.
looks like a good game idea.
And did I hear that wrong? Monkey? Trip? :P
There was a lot of things I liked about Heavenly Sword... but they are too many good games out there now, they better really pull out of this one if they want to make a difference.
"You find yourself stranded in New York with Monkey.."
cool, i saw this in gameinformer a long time ago and was wondering what happened. it is in good hands
Reaper dont think co-op i a option. she only gives intel/gameprogressing
Sounds like an interesting concept. I smell co-op play.
This is what happen's when your titles don't sell on one system, Heavenly Sword flopped on PS3, thats why this is going on Xbox Even Insomniac games aren't happy with there PS3 sales, rumours of them going Multi platform are true
never know ? maybe its good . game play vido then we gonna judge , any way lets pray it gonna be more than 10 hours !!
robots as enemies...looks LAME
Need gameplay, otherwise it's not really being developed...
No game-play? Seriously? Come on!
To Vintendo_64: Only a bit, I would correct myself. I was suspecting that Nariko's model is being recycled, but it's not.
vegeta hair lmao
my bad, actually 2nd post
@gelugon_baat (1st post) Does she?
So the demonic animal dopplegangers in the Oriental fable are feral robots in this game? How quaint - and apparently easier to design and animate than something that has darn-hard-to-animate hair and thousands of polygons.
The story may seem interesting , but this game looks like the recent prince of persia. You do some acrobatics, you go from point A to point B, you fight some bad guys in repetitive battle and finally get an ending that makes the game not worth playing over. So far, I'm not excited.
Trip does look suspiciously a lot like the protagonist from Heavenly Sword.
I was wondering when Westerners are going to make their own video game version of the Journey to the West.
@Un4givingAssault i agree, they could definitely have come up with better names than monkey and trip.
monkey? Trip? dumbest names ever. This game is the least original idea
I could not stop saying this "dam guy is so GAY throught the entire vid! the story looks fun..
where is the goddamn gameplay?!!!
I'm all in for new action adventure games, but please, make it last longer than 6 hours, aim for a good 10-12 hours. Otherwise, people won't buy it as much.
Looks good, would have liked to see at least a little gameplay though.
looks interesting, But it's earlie days.
