Do you have the endurance to outlast Enduro?

User Rating: 7 | Enduro 2600
Enduro is a race where you must learn to handle your car in the day and night under all kinds of weather conditions. Plus you are on the clock to complete so many kilometers before you are out of the race.

Gameplay: You maneuvered your car on the screen. At times you can go as fast as you want. While other times you must slow down and learn to dodge other cars as you pass them.

At the beginning of each day you are given a number of cars you must pass plus a time to do it in. Once you passed the required number you kept going until the timer expired. Once that happen you went on to the next day and a new number of cars to pass, which of course increased and you were given a new time to pass them in.

Graphics: Standard Atari graphics. But you could still distinguish your car from the others. The most interesting graphics on this game were during the night and fog. You would only get to see the taillights of the cars you needed to pass. This add some heart pounding moments.

Sound: Not alot here. You could play this game with no sound and still be really good at it.

Value: Enduro was a racer game for the Atari. While many others would follow. The uniqueness of Enduro would draw you back. Plus this game was one of the few games out by Activiision that you could earn a patch for meeting certain criteria.

Even as a single player game it was still fun to challenge your friends and not only see how many days you could last but who could drive the farthest. Besides counting cars and days the game also recorded the mileage you drove.

Tilt: If you like racers this was a game to have in your collection. The Enduro patch ("Roadbuster") was quite a challenge to get. The objective was to get to day 5 on the game and get a trophy that would appear on your screen. I have to say Activision must have had some stock in Kodak because when these games were released the instamatic camera was just coming out on the market. I can remember begging my parents to get one of those cameras so I could try for these patches.
