Proof the iPhone is a serious gaming device flawed by lack of control

User Rating: 7 | Eliminate Pro IOS
Eliminate Pro is basically a first person shooter where you take multiple types of weapons into deathmatches against enemy players. The game can be played on local area networks and on WiFi. I've heard some claims that it even works over cellular connections.

This game is classic deathmatch with the typical health, speed, armor pickups but, due to it being on a cellular phone, its actually revolutionary since this type of gameplay is usually only found on big consoles.

The problem is, this game's control is terrible. The game requires you to use two virtual joysticks to move and to aim. You also have to tap the gun to shoot and tap the bottom of the screen to jump.

iPhone will never be a good gaming machine until it gets a device like the icontrolpad with dual analog sticks and action buttons because having to use your fingers on the screen takes up too much space and its not as fluid as real buttons are.

This game is so hard to control its absolutely frustrating - just like Duke Nukem 3D and PREY.

Fortunately, its free to download - however, in an attempt to keep too man people off the server, the developers created a system where you need "energy" to play. You get energy by simply waiting a couple hours or so to re-enter the matches.

Upgrades include armor and new weapons like rocket launchers and plasma guns.

Overally, the graphics and rpesentation are awesome with a very cool intro video explaining the point of the game. Unfortunately, the poor control kills the experience.
