I'dd stay away from this, unless you're really hungry for a rts

By looking at the screenshots, I was hoping for a fast paced, action packed modern rts, much like World in Conflict. In some sense it is -it has the unit reinforcement drop-off, similar units, graphics and controls. BUT it remove the rest of things that made that game good. Here we go:
Right of the bat you are treated to lengthy intros and briefing movies made with the game engine. While the units look good from top down and from a distance, they don't look as such from close up distance. This results in a movie longer then the mission itself with boooooring chatter and blocky-looking chars.
The story itself is as dumb as it gets, with all the events occurring around some place in the US. A huge storm in Nebraska ends up ravaging the entire entire planet and the only possible solution being an US marine captain -you. And you are pissed because the world-wide catastrophic events ruined your holiday. Would be funny if treated as "Duke Nukem humor", but it's as serious as it gets....Duh, when game producers end up realizing that not everything revolves around the US and stop being so ego-centric, they may actually come up with a game worth playing.(btw all this plot is exhibited in a looong 15 minutes cinematic with nothing of interest happening).
There, you finally got to the first mission and able to actually play the game, right? Wrong! After a 10 minute briefing you are playing a tutorial mission teaching you in-length how to do brainless things like "right click to shoot". You have to listen to the drill sergeant saying (the obvious to a 5 year old who played any rts out there) how to move, load into trucks, use grenades, crawl on the belly, click the menu bar, click the mission bar, click on the reinforce bar and so on. EVERY topic is discussed in length and you can't do anything until he finishes blabbing 5-6 phrases (about right clicking for instance) in a tone that would put a grown man to sleep. And no, you can't skip the dialogue or the mission.
When all this terrible chore is over, the game locks up and freezes your PC, with no hope to recover, except pressing the restart button. Thank god they didn't make a 15 min tutorial about that!
I could go on and on about how slow paced and annoying this game is, but I think I made my point. Now to the technicalities:
Graphics are pretty well detailed, except for the things that matter -you can see the scars on your chars' face for instance, but explosions and buildings look awful. Trees and vegetation does get destructed but it looks similar to lego blocks crumbling. All this makes your PC reel and gasp for air on high settings, dough not much is happening on screen.
Sounds are "been there seen it" type. Music from Red Alert, the chatter is boring , uninspired and unrealistic. How many US marines would play the harmonica while the Central Command just told them the whole world has gone to the toiled? It does happened in here.
Gameplay is the thing most lacking :characters move slow, vehicles have very dumb AI and only move in preset formation, waiting for the slower to get into formation before moving put again. Special abilities are (graphically)unimpressive to say the least. There's more here to fill 2 reviews, so I'll limit myself from boring you to death.
My advice for you? There are plenty of rts-es out there. Most of them are better then this one. Want to play something similar? Try World in Conflict, RUSE or Red Alert 2, which are far superior. Skip this one, save a dollar, feed a hungry child or go spend it on a striper.
