Really overlooked fighter for the PS from Square. Mini Action-RPG quest that was one of the best until Vagrant Story.

I really can't see why this game had done so poorly during the Playstation era. It had everything a fighting game should've had in the hey day of the PS era: intriguing story, different fighting styles, and amazing graphics for its day. It perplexes me that this was so overlooked. Especially with the fact that they even embedded a separate side quest of which was an amazing Action-RPG. Really, this game was quite overlooked and was released before its time.

The use of the projectiles within this fighter was astounding. Clear shot focuses and quite easy to handle. It really worked well in its 3D environment. The fighting stage of Jo on top of the train is easily movable and can be used as a weapon (the logs). Really designed levels with this game.

This game was completely solid, innovative, and a well-put fighter with some really good extras. However, it's release and competitors were being too highly accepted by the other fans of a fighting genre. Maybe its the taboo "bouncing" of DOA or the mass-cult of the tekken series that drove fans to steer clear from this fighter. Ehrgeiz never had a chance to mature into its desired reputation that it should have had. Hands down, one of the most overlooked game in the PS era.
