Ecco Topic Extravaganza Times Two Point One. (Ecco Topic 2) :)
This topic is now read-only on GameSpot.

- Nov 6, 2011 4:58 pm GMTSo, after a new user abused the system and rampaged the last topic, stealing the last few posts
I thought we could start another. It matters not if you're an Ecco veteran or newbie or meme Noob, as the internet geeks like to call it
So what's on your minds? Obs add something Ecco related to
Ecco... is... awesome... sheds tears of joy at its awesomeness. If I were a dolphin Ecco would be my role model, and I'd swim around waiting jumping pools like Ecco, killing sharks like Ecco and tail walk like Ecco. Ecco, Ecco he's our dolphin, if he can't do it then no one can. Urgh... I wish a shark would eat these lame words. :/

My ignore list is exclusive to trolls only. I should warn you though, it's crowded and the trolls imprisoned within are mean, anti-social and well... ignored. - Nov 6, 2011 9:51 pm GMTI hate when that happens.
We nurture a topic with lots of good, healthy and clean posts for so long and then some intruder invades and spoils everything. The same thing has happened years ago in the NiGHTS into Dreams board.
Oh, well. There no point to cry over spilled milk. Talking about milk, does anyone know how cetaceans feed their babies? - Nov 7, 2011 8:38 am GMTHmm... that's an interesting question. Do you know the answer, or are you curious to know the answer?
Just checked... so they do feed their babies milk... interesting. But how? and Where from?

I should warn you though, it's crowded and the trolls imprisoned within are mean, anti-social and well... ignored. - Nov 7, 2011 1:38 pm GMTI'm curious because I've never seen videos about the matter. I know they (the females) have glands that secrete milk but I do not know how the babies get it.
In this video you can see the baby dolphin very close to its mother but no sign of breast whatsoever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L47ynO2CMQE - Nov 7, 2011 4:23 pm GMTI found out how baby dolphins feed dude in this article
It says that the mother has slits in her underbelly where her nipples are hidden.
Here is a little excerpt from the piece:
The calf nuzzles its snout or rostrum into the slit and feels for the nipple with its tongue.
When it finds its mother's nipple, the calf cups its tongue around the nipple and pushes it up against the roof of its mouth, forming a tight seal, and then presses its rostrum forward. The mother dolphin then responds by contracting muscles around the mammary glands that squirt the rich, thick, fatty milk in long squirts into the calf's mouth.
The site in question where you can read the whole thing is in the link below

Pretty interesting, huh?

Dang, something's gotta be wrong with this board.
...Something Ecco-related. Uh. Uhhh. Here, have a DL outtake. /shameless self plug

The Clan facility was nothing if not high-tech. Lights shone through every single wall as though they were embedded in the skin of a living creature, and the sheer size of the place made it all too easy to get lost. Ecco felt that he was swimming in circles, and he probably was. After the fourth or fifth dead end (he had lost count), the bottlenose snapped his beak in frustration.
"This is impossible," he whined. "How are we going to get anywhere if all we're doing is swimming like fish in a maze?"
Zanthe glanced at him and rolled her fins, the delphine equivalent of shrugging. "Den't ask me," she replied quietly. "For all we know, we could be sitting on the solution to our problems. I seppose it depends on whether or not they'ere... oh, ye'know. Willing to let us get too far in. I'em starting to think that they heve got a way of fixing up these passages to limit the movements of ane'one who uses them."
"How do you figure that?" Ecco asked, eyeing the outcast female sharply.
A placid yellow iris returned his halfhearted glare, and Zanthe swam a short ways off into the tunnel. "Look," she answered. "Right here. You see where there'es a hard place in this wall?"
"And that means what?" he prompted. Ecco looked at the group of plates she was referring to, but he saw nothing remarkable.
"It'es a gate," Zanthe explained simply. "'End to open it, we'ell need... oh, two stars' rank or so."
"You know this... how, exactly?" The bottlenose glanced around and nearly sighed, but thought better of it when he realized that there were no air vents close by.
"I cen see it," Zanthe responded. She tapped the edge of the gate with her beak, where a two-star symbol had been carved out and brightly dyed.
"Oh," Ecco said, feeling stupid for not having seen that in the first place.
The outcast smiled slightly at him. "Which means," she told him, "we will need to find the machine that creates their marks of rank. 'End you, Ecco, aere going to heve to use it. Fancy being a soldier?" Zanthe's inquiry held the slightest sardonic tone to it.

cool like the other side of the pillow - Nov 11, 2011 9:00 pm GMTBiology was the main reason that made me want to play Ecco in first place and I'm always curious about other life forms - specially cetaceans.
This Zanthe has a different accent. Is she british? =þ
Will you 'poste' the entire story of your 'heare'? I'd like to see how it endes. - Nov 11, 2011 9:48 pm GMTI apologize for ruining the other topic.
- Nov 11, 2011 11:08 pm GMTI'm going to guess Scottish.
I'm interested in the most unfathomable lifeform of all; women.
Also my favorite animals are bears, I think. But I'd want to be a falcon.

Basta, Rockstar Leeds. We get it, you're the oxygen-deprived stepchild. - Nov 12, 2011 9:13 am GMTThis Zanthe has a different accent. Is she british? =þ
British? No, but now that you mention it, you're not the only one who's told me "This character sounds British." XD For the record, I decided to give most of the outcast... well, cast, phonetic difficulties. There's an explanation for it, though.
Will you 'poste' the entire story of your 'heare'? I'd like to see how it endes.
Hey, people actually want to read my story! Anyway, yeah. Once I have the whole thing written and spiffed up, I'll post it on ff.net, and I'll link to it here. I'd post the whole thing on GFAQs, but I get the feeling that even if I copied the whole thing into one large, unbroken topic, I'd hit 500 posts and still not have enough room left over to fit it all in. (Each chapter is gonna be about 3000 words, and there'll be at least 40-50 chapters or so. And with the post character limit on these forums, a single chapter would probably take up several posts.)
I'm going to guess Scottish.
I never really had a 'nationality' in mind for a fictional accent... if I had to take a guess at my own stuff, I'd say Spanish. But I've heard actual Spanish accents, and they tend to actually not over-enunciate 'e', and drop their 'h's. Which Zan doesn't do. But I guess whatever real-life accent is closest is what would be the one. I have no idea. It might be Scottish or British or Irish for all I know. =p
I'm interested in the most unfathomable lifeform of all; women.
Wow. That's a pretty funny way to spell 'men', don'tcha think?
Also my favorite animals are bears, I think. But I'd want to be a falcon.
You guys already know my favorite animal, so I won't say it. Feel free to look at the third word of this page's title, though, if you need a hint.

cool like the other side of the pillow - Nov 12, 2011 11:06 am GMTAh, men are simple. Almost moronic or childlike in their simplicity.
At the top of this page it says: "Gamefaqs". Then the words, "Welcome, Taylor9". How dare you call me an animal.
Oh, you meant the topic title. Your favorite animal is the "extravaganza".
...I'm joking.

cool like the other side of the pillow - Nov 24, 2011 8:04 am GMTHappy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Well, if you live in the US, that is.
Otherwise, um... happy holiday that you're not celebrating?

Ms. Lurksalot
cool like the other side of the pillow - Nov 24, 2011 1:13 pm GMTWhy do you celebrate thanks giving?
- Nov 25, 2011 9:11 am GMTAssuming that that was a serious question (sorry, my rhetoric/humor detector is in for repairs), it's a celebration of the pilgrims who came to America not dying. They survived the first winter and apparently decided to throw a party, although, why Thanksgiving itself doesn't come after winter is a question I can't answer.

Ms. Lurksalot
cool like the other side of the pillow - Nov 25, 2011 3:02 pm GMTThat was a serious question.
I always see the expression "thanks giving" in movies or old cartoons but the real meaning is rather obscure to me and I never tried to learn more about it... until now.
I read more about ir here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving
We do not celebrate a "thanks giving" day but we have a large celebration in 24/June that coincides with the summer solstice. It has not the same meaning but it's not that different too, since we celebrate the (not always so) good harvest.

People love festivities. No matter what hemisphere they live. =þ - Nov 26, 2011 1:35 pm GMTOh. I think thanks giving (as two words) might have you confused. Thanksgiving itself is the holiday, but thanks giving, or more specifically, giving thanks, is the practice we're all supposed to engage in. Not that I or anyone I know really does it with much enthusiasm. (Probably because we know what we're thankful for and don't need to say it, but that's a different subject. As is the fact that people who say it irritate me for fairly specific and dumb reasons.)

cool like the other side of the pillow - Nov 29, 2011 3:51 am GMTI celebrated Thanksgiving too, and I live in the UK. Some of my university friends are from the US, and they kinda invited me to their party. So I decided to go, and then they had a big feast. Twas fun.
