I'm playing this game as Prince Poo, instead of Ness. Through debug, I added Poo, then removed Ness. Poo's level is reduced to the lowest possible, with an ATM card and his sword of kings. Even then, Poo is still overpowered for that part of the game because of how powerful the sword of kings makes him. Is there anything that is smaller than Poo's sword of kings to keep this part of the game challenging? I did not want Prince Poo to be overpowered...I only wanted him to combat with something that enables him to destroy some enemies and move-up to the second level, since his offense at the very first level is very low. Also, when Poo has the sword of kings, he remains overpowered, at least until he gets to Threed, if not any further.

First off, I'd like to say I'm legitimately surprised that people still come to this board. I guess Earthbound fans are forever huh?
Anyway, Yeah the Sword of Kings would make Poo overpowered that early. My only suggestion is to use a "hacking tool" to lower its power to equal a tee-ball bat or something.
In all honesty, even given its rarity, I still don't really believe it's worth the genocide of the Starmen Super's with its stat of Offense +30. Someone tell me I'm not the only one who thinks that...

It's only +30 offense. If for some reason you feel like your attempt to break the game is breaking it too hard, just unequip it. Not like you should have a hard time anyway, his stat gains are pretty boss.

You're not. I have never gone for the 1/128 items. It just takes too much time, and none of them are even close to worth it, especially Sword of Kings. Anyway, the only thing Poo is good for is Starstorm Alpha/Omega.

Challenge Mode scores: 230, 300, 249, 100, 299(perfect!) Overall: 1178
All the info is there, except the info that isn't there.

I've never gotten the sword myself; last time I tried I got bored and was getting rather high level (I was worried about missing the Magicant bonuses).

I think you're rather underrating him. Having a second Thunder/Ice user early on is very handy, not to mention his very well rounded set of stats. He's the most well-rounded character in the game thanks to stats and his selection of PSI (Ness is more of a cleric with a couple expensive fallback offensive options with massively boosted stats late game). Poo's obviously offset by his own downsides, but I'd say Poo isn't only about the Starstorms.

Since you've decided to take this route and are now complaining, maybe just avoid as many battles as possible until it gets challenging?

You could also just keep the sword of kings unequipped until legitimately obtainable weapons are roughly equal to its attack power, which would be around Threed or the Dusty Dunes Desert.

Just don't use the Sword of Kings until the point you'd get it in a normal playthrough. Ups the challenge.

Having a second ice user is handy ALWAYS. I mean, 44% chance of stunning an enemy versus 25% chance? Yes please.

You try to run away. But there's no escape! The enemy tries to run away. But there's no escape!
