@bowlingotter You are obviously extremely offended by my comments, get a grip. It doesn't matter how educated or uneducated in the discipline I am (one of my friends is an amateur cage fighter trained in jiu-jitsu by the way), I am in no-way saying that they are showing affection for each other, I am merely making an observation about how it looks and how unexciting it is to watch. It's just an opinion.

bowlingotter 5 pts

@rapboy_905 "Cuddling" is a term of endearment suggesting affection rather than athletic activity, so by using that term you are suggesting that two fighters grappling are actually showing affection for each other. But it's really just blatant admission of being uneducated in the sport. So not only did you suggest that "UFC" is a sport, but you came here just to troll it?

rapboy_905 9 pts

@bowlingotter You say only as if most of the world is trained in jiu-jitsu. It doesn't matter anyway because it's not just the people who are trained jiu-jitsu that end up "cuddling" anyway, it could be a karate expert against a crazy guy with an assault rifle, the fight would still end up finishing the same way, submission holds. It's got nothing to do with anyones sexual orientation (maybe you're the homophobe for assuming that's what I meant) it's just extremely boring to watch, worse than golf.

bowlingotter 5 pts

@rapboy_905 Only someone who's never trained in jiu-jitsu would call it "cuddling." that's rather homophobic.

rapboy_905 9 pts

@bowlingotter If you might notice a lot of people here have mentioned UFC, I was simply posting my opinion about it. And K1 is not just kick boxing it is also mixed martial arts but for some unknown reason doesn't seem to have any men cuddling on the ground.

Who ever played Fight Night Round 4? I'm a former amateur MMA light heavyweight fighter, and I love everything related to fighting, and FNR 4 was an improvement in physics and realism in my opinion, I have UFC 2009 too but I don't like to play much as I play FNR 4, even I like more when you can kick and do some ground fighting, so, if we gamers, could get something like a FNR 4 realism in MMA games, I'll be happy with EA's game or THQ's game.....

The more MMA games there are the better and i don't care how they compare to each other this and UFC Undisputed 2010 will both have great features.

fmos9 5 pts

@360gamer97 I care more about if the gameplay delivers than just the roster, but if there is a particular fighter ur a big fan of, and he is not reported to be in the game, than that could be a big turn off.

360gamer97 5 pts

There are only a few good fighters on this game Fedor,Couture and henderson. I am definately going for UFC 2010

RealOG615 5 pts

i am buyin it just 4 big john mccarthy lol

ea should of stuck with there regular sports games like dana white said they EA didn't think MMA wasn't a real sport now that undisputed 2009 was a success now they think its a real sport EA sucks

SithChampion 5 pts

I can't wait to play as Chuck Norris.

JonathanGudeman 5 pts

@ Amauris96 that's exactly what I thought about UFC 2009, but it was just piece crap that never gets played.

Amauris96 5 pts

I am gonna get UFC 2010 and this one. Guaranteed.

Laxman816 5 pts

I agree with h marui. UFC is infinitely more popular than Strikeforce. Even if this game shows more fluidity and better visuals I will still buy UFC Undisputed 2010.

h_maruri 5 pts

Except for Dan Henderson and Fedor the rest of the fighters in this game are simply "B" class fighters. If you buy a boxing game you want to play as Manny Pacquiao, Jermain Taylor, De La Hoya, Winky Wright, Bernard Hopkins, Rafael Marquez, Roy Jones, Marco Antonio Barrera, etc. The same here, if you want to play a mma game you want to be Lyoto Machida, Matt Hughes, Nogueira Brothers, George Saint Pierre, Bj. Penn, Jon Jones, Shogun Rua, Frank Mir, Brock Lesnar, etc. But these guys are in UFC. Lets just hope that the EA game is so amazing good that playing with nobodys would not matter at the end.

I agree with stinkymonkey. The engine for FNR4 was fantastic. I think I'll get this AND Undisputed 2010. I think this will be better though... hopefully... maybe...

aidsta 7 pts

hope its as good as fight night round 4. i love that game SO much.

SULTANOOOO 5 pts

damn nice game!.. i didnt love ufc ever.. but i saw diego sanches vs pj pen match.. i love it 100%~!!

stinkymonkey58 5 pts

if ea uses a modified version of the FNR4 engine this game should be pretty good, with all the physics based gameplay and what not, don't get me wrong i did enjoy playing undisputed but all the canned animations for the fighters started to get on my nerves, if thq has improved their game engine then this could be a very hard decision to make

towely62 5 pts

ea is just trying to bank on the mma craze by the way they dont have any solid fighters in this game fedor is the only one. ur just goin to be playing a bunch of no name fighters @rapboy905 some of the best fighters of the ufc have gone through pride and k1 with ease

Skyblue69 5 pts

I think the winner here will definately be the gamer. Nothing like a bit of healthy competition to ensure developers maximise the potential of their products. EA's MMA looks alot more fluid than UFC 2009 but there are a couple of clipping problems I noticed in the vid. Also I wasn't really impressed by the visuals in the clips, hopefully will be sorted by release time. Gonna be interesting to see how long Dana White will shutout EA before the right cheque comes along...

Sparda_13 5 pts

EA > THQ... I'm just confused if ufc fighters will be in this game? I don't think so eh? :( What I also notice, not only that it has better graphics than UFC(so far) and that it is more realistic(so far) but it is also more fast paced(so far)... in the UFC game, while you're breaking your thumb with the right analog, your fighter is on the ground doing nothing(if your opponent is better) and if your opponent is worse, then your fighter would be moving once in a while, very slowly and relaxed. In short, the gamer is more fatigued than the fighter. The MMA game looks as if it won't have that kind of problem(so far), I hope it delivers. I'd still play a lot of UFC because of fighters like Shogun though :)

bentleg 5 pts

I don't think they will do but it would be great if they signed some retired legends such as one of the 2nd gen gracie brothers. Marco Ruas, Ken and Frank Shamrock even somedody like dan severn. Also I really hopeing that they allow for Grand prix and one night tournanments. And what I really want is the option for open weight competition.

ferrier1987 5 pts

Ive not played UFC undisputed purely because I thought the video reviews made the gameplay look a tad unrealistic compared to the real thing. Looking at the short example of gameplay here I think it looks alot more like the real thing. Looks like they have really put feeling into the moves too judging by that clenched knee kick to the face in the video. Pretty sure I'm definately going to be buying this as long as the finished product looks like this.

darksidecelica 5 pts

this all looks good on paper but can ea deliver is the real question. and no having Fedor doesnt make the game good. Plus for all the people saying ea mma is great, the game is not even out to compare to yet so till then UFC undisputed is the best mma game to date

kmaster78 5 pts

Fedor is way better than Brock Lesner, EA Sports MMA is a must have!

TongLong 6 pts

I hope this game has the option for head stomps and North South knees!

zarko 5 pts

I totally agree with you bowlingotter I waited 3 years for the UFC game and I loved it right away. There are things that I would change obviously but it was the first GOOD mma game. Not the first ever made but the first GOOD one. The things I hope EA MMA game does and what UFC missed is the ability to use the cage. To do wallcrawl against the cage in order to get up. Each individual fighter has their stances instead of only orthodox. More depth in the career which UFC really wasnt successful at. WAY MORE INDEPTH CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION!!!!!!! For THQ that was unacceptable. Their WWE CAWS pretty much has no limits so why should UFC have limits!!! MORE NICKNAMES FOR FIGHTERS!!! and please make the CAW age in the career mode instead of always staying at the same age and retire at 20. And it would be fantastic if MMA puts more submissions and that you build your skills to get the new submissions available. I really liked the UFC game and Im looking forward to this one also. The competition between two brands = better product for consumer.

EA, please allow Male vs Female matches. Like Cyborg vs. male, Gina vs. male, etc. I want to be able to pick a male and use him to punch Cyborg in the face!

bowlingotter 5 pts

@chesucks @Smashat Do what most MMA fans should do and get both. I'm excited as hell for this as well as UFC Undisputed 2010

bowlingotter 5 pts

@rapboy_905 Not sure I understand your argument... the UFC isn't even in the game. Are you just saying kickboxing is better than MMA even though kickboxing is one of the disciplines in MMA?

rapboy_905 9 pts

mate, K1 is the GOD. UFC sucks big tyme!
