We talk to gameplay designer Victor Lugo about some new features of EA MMA from EA3 2010.
I will get this game and enjoy it hugely, but without the Buffer, it just isn't the same
@dspidermanboy I think that is King Mo.. The current champion of Strikeforce.. But it could be Lashley its hard to tell because it goes pretty quickly. Anyway I'm actually really looking forward to this one now. The graphics look much better than UFC Undisputed and I like the fact that they are approaching this game as a sport not just one organization..
ufc is soooo clunky.this looks fluid but needs faster animations
Bobby Lashly? 4:15
I hope its better than UFC2010, To me UFC2010 is just a remake of UFC2009. Same controls, better graphics, and same boring career path
The submissions sound kinda cool but I want to see them alrewady. I keep hearing them talk about it but I want to see a demonstration of it.
I guess I'm just a little confused about why they decided to develop this game. I don't really see the point; it looks just like UFC Undisputed except for some different ring styles.
wow the game looks pretty good so far only with minor problems,at this rate i could as well be just as good as ufc2010 i love ufc 2010 and lookin forward to this one also,to bad none of my favorit ufc fighter wont be in it,but when it comes down to it its all about gameplay,im even gonna be using my created character most of the time anyway
idk about this one the whole submission thing sounded stupid as far as the mechanics of it i got the demo of ufc2010 and i love it. Hey i like ea but this might not be the best game ever.
The Ufc2010 is great true but EA i well known 4 sporting games and in this year beat even PES defenitly looking forward to cheack this tittle its gonna be worth to play this game!!!
haha I love all of the casual MMA fans here,I have a feeling this game will own UFC.everybody thinks this will fail epic just because they dont know a thing about MMA and think that UFC is the only organization.ufc 2010 is still so robotic it was terrible I dont care for it at all.this game although a little slow(im sure the speed will be increased)looks great, the animations look way better.I think EA is the way to go on this one because they have experience with striking from the fight night series, whereas THQ has smackdown lol. This sounds sick with all of the different organizations,I was interested when I heard DREAM mntioned.I love UFC but THQ cant do it justice.
Even the grappling animations look so much more natural in this game as opposed to the really stiff and repetitive animations of UFC 2010. It gives the sense that this is a real fight with so much more at stake than just a video game. EA MMA even has partial ground transitions and multiple variations per transition and each variation has it's pros and cons. EA consulted with many more experts to help replicate the true look and feel of an actual mma fight. It goes without saying that the striking game is much better and more natural than the UFC game because it's based on the Fight Night engine that EA has perfected. This game truly has an international feel to it with the huge roster of fighters and the variety of arenas all over the world with their own unique rule sets. Even at this stage the game looks way more polished than that crapfest of a game from UFC.
this game looks SICK cant wait.
UFC from what I can see owns the hell out of this... With the mulitplayer and all, UDC 2010 is amazing.. And this game looks like it plays extremely slow.. We will see how it turns out, but otherwise I still have some hope for this game.
i would rather play the ufc 2010 demo than ufc 2009 game. thats how much i think it improved. to me its all about gameplay so if the game isnt as repetitive as ufc 2009 it has a chance. so F you F him and F me. its all about your own opinion.and F her too
FEDOR!! Too bad we can't pit Fedor against Lesnar. That would be... wait for it... LEGENDARY!!
UFC has a wider variety of moves. The EA game by what was shown is not as complete. The ground game is restricted to guard and mount positions by what was shown in the vid.
The combat seems to be in slow motion.... UFC Undisputed 2010 is my choice
EA MMA vs UFC Undisputed 2010 who will win?
Looks like it plays a little slow :(
looks pretty awesome
im either getting this or backbreaker...im not sure yet
@remora133...i'm buying this for sure.
these people are complaining about there not being well known fighters in this, but i bet they couldn't name half the fighters in the UFC. They really have no clue about MMA. they probally think UFC is the only organization. Fighters come and go, duh.
are people seriously basing their oppinion about this game because EA MMA doesn't have that many known fighters? grow the F up. all this needs is great gameplay. which i think it will have...UFC 2010 still feels robotic in many ways judging from the demo that just came out a few weeks ago. something THQ did NOT fix from last year. i mean don't get me wrong. they improved on some aspects. Like the ground and pound well adding in some new features like the cage grappling.'etc"..but for a LHW bout. you would think the fighters would move abit more faster. especially machida and Showgun. i've never seen any of these fighters punch so slow in my life.
this isnt going to sell at all
i personally think the fighting system will be more personal and atuned to the feel of how a mma game should feel. ufc games look good if you watch it but i think this mma game looks like it will FEEL way better then ufc. plus you can fight in different countries! u need to adjust to different rules and the such. yay
Looks ok but wish they actually showed them physically playing it and executing some of those situations rather than just discuss it and make us only see the game in the background..
this game looks good my only gripe with ufc 2010 is the way they reworked the clinch game but ea mma is looking good
I'm not going to say that this game will be crap or whatever. UFC has a ton of fighters, and so do the other promotions. This is always going to be a versus topic that will live on through the forums, just like 360 VS PS3. Unfortunately, it's always just an opinion no matter how bad you want your opinion to be fact. I would love if both games were excellent. I already have UFC 2009, and plan on getting 2010. We'll see if this turns out good.
this game 100% more realistic than ufc 2010
add me on ps3 online bigsteve10
Ah yeah UFC Undisputed 2010, nuff said.
@nick_blaze_420 It's people like you who make mma look bad, "Why would anyone wanna play a game with no ufc fighters" Man you really have no clue about mma in general do you, did you know the #1 ranked fighter will be in this game and not UFC?
The gameplay looks craptacular, Looks like a watered down version of ufc. Why would anyone wanna play a game with no ufc fighters except for a few like randy couture. This will not do good i can see it coming.
i think this is going to be more realistic then ufc, ufc is too fast and unrealistic
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i don't think is a god game :(
@Kobayashi_Sumisugu Read ddarby70s post again.EA said no one would ever play it is true.Everything ddarby said there is true fact.DW did pitch it to EA and EAs exact words were "MMA was not a real sport." Look around the net.Plenty of interview links to see for yourself. On another note.If this plays well, then i'll play it.
ddarby. No need to make things up. I haven't seen Dana say anywhere that EA LA claimed "no one would play it". And what's with this crap about "Once UFC 2009 came out and did well they jumped on making a MMA game."? EA Sports started making the MMA game in 2008, before Undisputed was released. No need to lie, it's just a game. Looks fairly good to me, some awkwardness in certain spots, but looks like I'll be getting two MMA games this year, unless reviews reveal something really amiss with either.
I dont think I'm gonna get this cause i love mma and when Dana White pitched the idea of a UFC game to EA they said MMA wasn't a real sport and no one would ever play it. Once UFC 2009 came out and did well they jumped on making a MMA game.
I wouldn`t trust EA much. Every year they say that things in a sports game re going to be like real world..... I`ll have to see the review.
Still not that impressed...im dont think im gona get it still cuz of the online fee
the game looks great but i will stick in ufc undisputed 2010 until the review of this game out
The game looks great so far.
