Everybody says that UFC is the star of the MMA world because it has the most recognizable stars, the biggest pay-per-view events, and a solid video game franchise in THQ's Undisputed. But that it is just not the way everyone sees things.
My personal opinion is that EA Sports MMA is on another level besides the UFC games released so far,for a number of reasons. First reason in my opinion is the graphics and game fluency, i mean comparing it to MMA the UFC just seems like Rock'em Sock'em Robots the action flows more naturally compared to Undisputed, the kicking and the ground fighting seem like they should : part of the same match not two different things all together. The button control is very simple being used a modified version of the Fight Night series controls. This dosen't seem like much but it's the key and the purpose to a great game: to let everyone enjoy it and emerge totally in the experience the game offers. I mean not everyone could be a pro fighter but everyone who plays a fighting game should seem like one.
Another reason would be that the game is related to reality, everyone who's ever done a contact sport knows that the skill level and the stamina dictates the outcome of the fight.EA MMA uses stamina as its core mechanic for dictating performance. Throwing a flurry of strikes will quickly deplete your stamina and leave you open to counter attacks. Likewise, needlessly button mashing on the ground will drain stamina allowing your opponent to effortlessly improve his position while you catch your breath. The career mode is simple and great because it shows what you need to see: the harder you train the better you become. The only reason I didn't like what i saw is the lack of many MMA stars but that's understandable do to the fact that they don't have UFC license. The way EA Sports dominates the boxing game franchise it should dominate the MMA and UFC world so THQ you should hand over your license and know when you have been beaten ! You should let the only company that could deliver a real game experience(in my opinion EA SPORTS) do so.

Great game good single player, multiplayer is good however few flaws such as no ranked matchmaking making it hard!

Not a typical fighting game, with some good innovations, but it needs an extra layer of polish. A good start though.
