A sloppy, botched compilation, plagued by technical issues.

Ever wondered what Wing Commander would play like with wonky joystick controls, no targeting or auto pilot and frequent crashes?

Well, you probably haven't, but that doesn't mean EA won't let you experience a version that can only be considered utterly inferior to most homebrew ROMs. The Origin classic here is so broken, it is nigh impossible to get through even the introductory mission. Thanks EA!

Though Wing Commander was my primary reason for purchasing this compilation, I was also excited to replay Syndicate, which I remembered to be one of the finest action/strategy titles of its time. Unfortunately, the version included here is not the PC classic, but the wretchedly botched Super Nintendo port. Thanks again, EA!

Though I was mostly unfamiliar with the other titles included on EA Replay, I did give some of the more famous ones, like Jungle Strike, Desert Strike and the Road Rash games, a try. Again, controls are awkward, technical bugs abundant and the gameplay in general has aged very poorly.

Overall, EA Replay stands as one of the sorriest classics compilations I’ve ever had the displeasure of playing. No effort has been made to optimize the performance of these games (sometimes important controls are simply missing, not to mention that the frame rate is often spotty), and the versions chosen for inclusion here are not the ones most video gamers will fondly remember.
