"Mysterious time passes over you..." This is one of the most unique games ever.

User Rating: 9 | 46 Okunen Monogatari - Harukanaru Eden e SNES
Story: E.V.O. The Search for Eden is another awesome RPG by Enix for the Super Nintendo console. I will be reviewing the Zsnes rom version of the game, as opposed to the actual SNES console version. This game is about evolution. You upgrade and evolve your creature until you are an ass-kicking, razor-toothed, beast from hell (or whatever you prefer). You could be something a bit more docile if you so choose.

Gameplay: Long story short, you manuever around eating animals that are weaker than you. The setting may take place on land, at sea, or in the air, depending on what adaptations you choose. As you subdue more and more little creatures, you gain EVO points. When you have enough points you can alter your animal with many different adaptations. For example you could go with a jaw/biting power upgrade, a speed/tail upgrade, fins, longer neck, or pretty much whatever you want. This is a very unique game. At one point I was a tiny lion/rhino, with an elongated neck, and the ability to jump very high. At another point I was a sea creature with huge fangs, horns, and a long neck. You will need to continue evolving in order to get through the different terrains. Some of the boss battles are quite challenging, but if you evolve properly you will be triumphant in the end. I never became a human being, but I know it is definitely possible to do so. I also somehow missed becoming an aveion creature of the sky. Oh well. I think I forgot to pick up one of the mysterious orbs or something.

Pros: Customizable character, excellent music, cool plot, absurdly unique and unforgetable game.

Cons: A bit simplistic. All you can do physically is kick, jump, and bite. Don't let this one criticism stop you my friend.

Overall: 8.8 overall score. I really enjoyed EVO and would reccommend downloading the ROM, because the cartridge itself costs somewhere around $60 bucks.
