Enjoyable... to the simple minded and weirdly, me...

User Rating: 6.5 | Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce PS3
For all the things that I love about the Dynasty Warriors, ther is only one thing about the series that makes it hard for me to pick up; ITS UNDYING ABILITY TO BE SO CONSISTENT. You've all seen it, general appear on map, general walk to objective, general kill bad guy on the way and repeat until mission objective complete and you win. That made it hard for me to appreciate number 6 and its empire series which I always said to myself, "No, I will not pick it up."

Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce is somewhat a sign to me that Koei is still stubborn. This latest entry to the series is just of many question I had in mind: Why did I pick it up? How is this game any good? And why is there a monkey on my butt?

In this game, you play as a general in the same formula its had for so long, I can't remember the first time they actually used it. The gameplay is all and all the same as the previous installments. The only difference is the game's Awakenings which is like a Musou Rage only imitating a power ranger morph, in which your character changes into a armor-like form and kicks ass harder before becoming human again.

The graphics department... is appalling, for a PS3 game, because as soon as I entered the first mission, I though I was playing the PS2 version of Dynasty Warriors 4. It is hard for me to like this game in the way the graphics would be severely outdated. I know that this was to be a PSP game, but the developers seemed to be in a hurry to make money from this franchise that they forgot to update the graphics.

Sound is only above average, because the game or the series as a whole has this problem for hiring anime voice actors that need coaching... bad!!!! It was not peasant hearing the voice acting in the game because most of the time every one would sound as if they were in the moment where their pride would get in the way of their emotions!!! And the way they sound when they die is BOLLOCKS!!!! I think I would have preferred the Japanese version of the game just to hear the original Japanese voiceover!!!!

Now, the only reason I gave this game a realtively high score is its online, it shows promise and almost mimics Demon's Souls in where 3 other players help you in the game co-operatively but sadly none can be your enemy to play competitively. Plus the fact that you lose OFFLINE multiplayer in the process makes he fact that this game more of a port than a real game. That makes it more BOLLOCKS than the DRM that Assasin's Creed 2 for the PC had.

Overall, the game is enjoyable to the simple minded who don't mind the ever so more consistency or those who enjoy beaten up goons online. But the presentation was enough to make my opinion of the series to stick: Make change or suffer.

You are welcome to pick this up.
