Don't listen to the so-called critics out there, this game was a step in the right direction.

Now, I should warn you first off that I am a fan of Mobile Suit Gundam, so I'm going to get more enjoyment out of this than non-Gundam fans. That having been said, compared to Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1, this game was a huge step in the right direction. In addition to the new characters playable in Official and Mission modes, there's also a bevy of new, playable Mobile Suits to have fun with. Almost every single MS from the UC Gundam series is represented here, from Zakus to Gelgoogs to Gaza Cs to Gottlranns.

Voice acting is also improved, although with such a large cast, there's a few voice actors that leave a lot to be desired. A lot of the lines are lifted straight from the shows, so people who've seen them will get it, but most will be a tad puzzled.

The HUD is greatly improved, becoming more streamlined and easy-to-use. In addition, you can continue thruster boosting as long as you have energy to use, cutting down on the frustration of trying to get halfway across a field in short bursts. Combat is also smoother and feels easier to take down enemy units.

All in all, the game is a huge step up from the last game, and for Gundam fans a worthy title that will take hours and hours to beat. However, if you don't know your Zaku from your Rick Dom, you're probably better off skipping this one.
