If you're looking for a game to kill time, this is the game.

This game is a great way to fill up time gaps when you're sitting at home, with nothing to do. You'll have to much to do, with over 40 characters, and all of them have different stories. The only downside to this is that you'll be seeing some of the same battles, so the novelty wears off quick.

Dynasty Warriors 5 puts you in ancient China, slaughtering dumb AI warriors. However, to counteract this, officers have been implemented with what I call "God buffs", making some of them near-impossible to beat in the beginning unless you trained your officer of choice in another mode.

Graphics are average in this game for a PS2, and the draw distance suffers in multiplayer mode. Enemies sometimes vanish, only to reappear seconds later. This is a big disadvantage, especially if you're facing a very strong officer.

The audio in this game loops throughout the battles(which last about 10-30 minutes), with electric guitars rocking as you slash through your enemies. There is a variety of songs, and sometimes my friend and I hum to them as it wears on.

After you prepare for battle, you should get on your computer or read a book for a while, as the loading can sometimes take up to ten minutes or even freeze without you knowing, since the game needs to keep up with all of the models and happenings in the game. The loading is worth the wait, but it becomes annoying because the loading can sometimes be a quarter of the time a battle is.

Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone who sees it in a discount area, as the game play can addict you with the merciless slaughter that the AI shall receive.
