anyways, i'm playing as a sniper. but man, this game has too much info to absorb. it's not that i don't like it (in fact, i love jrpgs and rpgs in general), but i dunno. i guess i just don't love to read vague descriptions (like how something makes your brave soldier more valuable in the fight against blah blah blah).
on the other hand, there's no quick tutorial. i didn't wanna sit down and listen to the voice over. i don't even know how weapons are supposed to work. so you buy weapons, but they're actually used as supplies that deplete? i don't get it. i guess the clutter of crap on menus is just too many to read.
one thing i like is the graphics. there are much better-looking shooters out there, but dust is very pleasant to look at and not utter grey post-apocalyptic bs.
bottomline, i really don't have time to swim through and read all the texts. i just want straightforward descriptors of everything. it's not that dust is too complicated, but there's jsut too much numbers and icons i don't even know which icons represent what.

Forge Gun = BFG
Sniper Rifle = duh
Mass Driver = Grenade Launcher
Laser Rifle = similar to Sniper Rifle, continuous fire though
Basically, all the stuff you buy that is not blueprints (the ones with the outline around the icon) are used up when you respawn. If you go down, but another person revives you, your items do not get used up.

as the above poster noted, try to buy blueprint weapons and armor as they will save you alot of ISK in the long haul.
the only useful advice i can give to a new player is try to max out your innate skills first. like weaponry, circuitry, field mech, and get the +5% shield bonus ASAP. all the while using the cheapest suits and weapons as possible.
by all means if sniping isn't getting you results in a particular match swith to the assault starter suit. its free and may net you some more kills

Ignore the hell out of this. Items have variations that aren't always shown in attributes. Instead highlight said item and read the scrolling text, which is what's the really important part
