- "Underappreciated"
OK, first off, i never played pen and paper D&D, and didn't play stormreach. but i do know that stormreach was almost dead, an i do have knowledge of the D&D rule sets of my experience with Baldur's gate. Now, for the review.
Gameplay: 8/10
Combat in this game is great. it does away with pure auto attack and button tapping, and creates a more active and fun system. my only complaint is when using a tank style character, all you really have to do is hold down the attack button. Questing in this game is great, because it caters to solo and group players, and pick up groups are readily available.
Value:9/10
The way subscriptions and the item shop are handled is nothing sort of genius. it rewards longtime players, and is a good help on quests. Essentially, you can earn points from doing quests, buying them, or subscribing. also, points are stored on accounts, not characters, so you can earn more points buy playing with more than one character.
All in all i think this is one of, if not the best F2P MMO out right now, and is worth your time to try.

If you enjoy fast paced, responsive action, don't mind the Eberron setting and the dated graphics, you'll enjoy DDO.
