A game with a fairly nice combat system but lacking some story that made it not such a perfect game overall.

User Rating: 8 | Dungeon Siege II PC
Having played the Diablo series and the first Dungeon Siege this game proves to give a lot more then its predecessor.

To start off, Dungeon Siege is a game which is very similar to the Diablo series because of its Action-RPG like gameplay, But don't let it fool you, This game offers a lot of nice and innovative things but in the same time keeps in track with all of its look-a-like's.

The graphics are quite good for a game that came out at the year 2005 and provides a simple overhead view which is being used commonly by a lot of RPG's, Although the graphics customization may not be as good as other games it gives you all of the basic options that you need to modify in case you need to.
But not so much credit goes to the character creator, Just like other famous Action-RPG games it suffers from verity, You can create the most basic character in game by changing the Race, Face type, Hair type and Hair color. But in this case at least in this game you can be different then other NPC's and party members unlike in other Action-RPG games.

As for the combat you got your standard Action-RPG elements like selecting a specific combat type like a Warrior, Ranger, Combat Mage or Nature Mage, You can also mix between them if you feel like it and it adds some more personalty to the game and character because for example while you are a Sword welding-Combat Mage your friends can be something entirely different and you both can be good that what you are good make it be Healing, Damaging, Spell Casting, and etc..
As for the combat itself its just a regular Right-Click-To-Keep-Attacking and Left-Click-To-Walk-And-Pick-Up-Items, There is not much to say anymore other then the fact that it gets a bit repetitive after a while but in the same time as your party grows from 2 party members to 6 party members the player (aka you) plays a bigger role because he has to control all of the 6 party members, set their skills accordingly, buy/find them gear and spells and of course revive them when they die because you did not manage to see that their health bar was at the 10%'s and went down to death.
The replayability of the game is a slight issue, When ever one of your party members (You or the NPC's) fall in battle you do not die instantly you are just laying down unconscious while regaining your conscious back but if you get hit a lot while being unconscious you will soon die and will only come back by having a party member revive you are the whole party dying and getting revived at the nearest town.
When your party dies and respawns at the nearest town the whole party looses what it had equipped (But not what they had in the inventory) but they can return it back by talking to an NPC by the town teleporter but because of that you will lose some of your money.

As for the story there are 3 main Acts and each Act has its share of Main Story Quests and some Side Story Quests, The quests are not all that bad but they are not as memorable and they are not even game changing, Sometimes there are dialogues between NPC's that you can participate in but even though you have a choice of words rarely does it change anything in the story or quest, They all take you to the same end which is something that i would not expect from an RPG and the lack of choice makes it feel like you are just a driver for the NPC's that just does its job of getting from point A to point B to activate a conversation and change nothing.

Overall the game is fun and nice if you are a person that can let the story side on with a few flaws here and there, If you are a person that likes to listen to the story and get to know all of the characters and lore of the game and rarely pay attention for the gameplay, This game might not be for you because it is certainly lacking that amazing story element, If you are a person that enjoyed the hell out of games like Diablo, Diablo II, Dungeon Siege I and Sacred/Sacred Underworld and you are wailing to let the story pass by you without looking into it too deeply, You will enjoy this game because of its very nicely crafted combat that did not change over the years with Action-RPG's.
In short play this game if you want to have some fun and that only, Make it be co-oping with friends or being alone with the AI and its NPC's you will have fun nonetheless.

I'm giving the game a full 8.0 because i really enjoyed the combat with friends and likewise the NPC's but the fact that the story was just not there made me a bit disappointed and made me think how they could have made the story and character better.
