Game play: 6710
The actual game play of driving cars is quite good you are able to do the normal slides, turns and whatnot. It is also a very easy driving system to learn, too easy on fact. You can go round most corners on the game without braking and just a twitch of a move to turn, also alot of the cars are prone to crashing and spinning out of control. But outside races you can have more fun by sliding round corners which is impossible to do in races. When being chased by the cops you also have alot of fun but mostly your eyes are pinned on the mini map where your looking for the next blockade or building to knock down.it is very balanced but only gets a 6 because the main part 'racing' is not particularly good.
The sound can be realistic at times but cant at others. Also alot of the cars do sound the same. And if your in certain camera views you cant here the car at all.
I find the graphics are really good on the racing cars and i mean only on the racing cars. They have pushed the now ageing system to the limits on the cars they just look good, with the way the light shines off your paintwork.Other than the racing cars themselves the graphics are a bit shameful just simple shapes, really what you would expect in this genre of game.
Upgrades and parts etc.: 8/10
The options are quited good and differ for all the different cars on the game. The amount of vinyls is quite good but they mostly look the same, the same with the body kits really, the spoilers arent too bad, and on everything you unlock new stuff by climbing up the blacklist. They are graphically sound aswell looking realistic. But no neons, that takes it down alot in my book, i like neons
The cars are really good on the game a very good range from the the small fiat punto going up to Lambourghinis and the top end Mercedes and Porches.
Replay Value: 6/10
the problem is its all the same once youve got to number 10 on the blacklist its just the new cars you want to drive nothing else.So id say rent it first, to see if you like the layout of the game then buy.
the tracks are really disappointing, there is no difference really in any of them there all open plan street racing, and all are very similar.same with the environment the layout looks as if it was rused and they did like 1/8 th of it then copied it.
Overall i'd say EA have done an alright job on it, but it still doesnt compare to the underground series, which i would say is probably the best street racing game ive seen so far.
