I don't think people got the right idea about this game (or maybe they're too brainwashed by the other FPS's around). I have been a DUKE, QUAKE, DOOM fan since the games first made their debut on pc and DUKE4EVER lives up to the original. The game is a mindless shooter like the original games......if it moves, shoot it plain and simple! No story and hilarious one liners.It's a proper "old skool" game people. People who bought the game....heck even the people who reviewed the game as part of their jobs were unfairly comparing it to the fps's of nowadays. Hence they expected a story line and some kind of realism. DNF is more like say "serious sam" which is a fun game in its own right. In my opinion, this game is a breath of fresh air to be able to switch of ones mind and blow sh*t up.
