Action game-play at it's best! Stereotypes action movie crammed into a game.
If you think you need lots of vertices and high resolution textures to make a great game think again! I played this game with my first computer: a Pentium 166 with 32Mb RAM and a 4MB video card, oh and NO 3D acceleration whatsoever. I played other games on it but this one had the most wow factor. I think I played the demo first but just that was a *blast*.
This game is action-PACKED! The maps are *fun*, the weapons and equipment interesting and the monster challenging yet fun ; I won't go into detail, the game is well documented and rightly-so. This is a male teenager dream come true: guns, freedom & babes. Shake it, baby!
Before I go further, I hope you have Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD or one of the several compatible handhelds, so you can install EDuke32 and enjoy true 3D.
All the words that I could come up with would do no justice to how I felt about this game over a decade ago. It may not had the same impact as Doom did but I hope all who dedicate their lives to gaming and like action, have it pretty high in their influences.
Take your favorite, stupidly funny & filled with clichés action movies and roll them into one. Now imagine you could experience things as the protagonist then warped in a strange fun world. You got Duke Nukem 3D.
At least try the demo, hopefully with EDuke32. Nothing but fun await you.
