Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition User Review
A great game, along with the possibility to make your own maps, a High Res pack, bring together a worthy game.

I have been playing this probably as long as I can remember me gaming (well, aside my first Atari game, lol).
Up to today, if you can run it through DosBox (or through the High Res pack, which is, honnestly said, less trouble for more quality), it is still a good game to feel how FPS has grown in its beginning stages (granted you've played the first Doom, seeing as you'd play this game again :P)
"Let God sort 'm out".
The range of weaponry, going from classic firearms, to the trademark weapons of good ol' Duke.
My favorite remains the Devastator, high scale havok, especially in the air!
The Shrinker and Expander serve you well, though often they feel useless, since explosives and bullets mow down whats bringing you down, and are futile on the tougher enemies.
The Shrinker might do well in close corners to save ammo and not let the RPG blow yourself up.
"Your face, my -ss, whats the difference?"
The enemies are probably, what you call best, fodder.
Once you know em, they die alot, and quick, and fast enough so their screams won't go over Duke's great remarks.
"I like to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all outta gum."
For its time, the live cinematics were great, only pulling in movies at key moments, such as boss-deaths.
The High Resolution package is worth mentioning.
It lets you play the game easier, not requiring fiddling with any msDos, and, if your keyboard is on Azerty, this'll actually stay for once!
Also, custom maps load easier. In the past, this had to be loaded in Setup beforehand, and every new map would require a restart of the game. But with HR, no morre!
All by all, if you can get your hand on this, do it.
Get the High Res package, and enjoy even a better quality then it was before. Whats best, this update is free and governed by fans!
HR's textures are much, much better, even environmental ones.

This should be played by anyone who has been burnt out on the military shooter craze. Truly a gem in FPS gaming.

Action game-play at it's best! Stereotypes action movie crammed into a game.
