The ultimate alien ass kicker in his first adventure!
In the game you jump from platform to platform, shoot robots, collect keys, hang from platforms with the grapple hook, shoot boxes, collect bonus, look for secrets and after you've fought your way through that you have to deal with Dr Proton (the evil genius himself). The graphics are in EGA some the colours are very limited but you can't really complain about that because it was made at a time when EGA was still the standard. EGA is 16 colours for anyone interested!
The sound effects weren't anything too special but in 1991 sound on the PC was still in it's infancy. The game did support Sound Blaster but the sounds sounded just like the PC speaker just a little bit clearer. There was no music in the game at all because that was still in it's infancy too.
The gameplay was awesome for the time and it's still fun to play today. There's only one weapon which is a shame but it's not the end of the world. Duke Nukem is a classic platformer that should be in everyone's collection.
