AU Shippin' Out September 17-September 21: Super Paper Mario and Heavenly Sword

Super Paper Mario makes its way down under.

Six months after its release in the US, Super Paper Mario is finally making its way down under. Set to be released on September 20, Super Paper Mario sees Mario trying to save the world from a villain that's new to the Mario universe--Count Black. By using the Wii Remote, players can change the perspective of the game from 2D to 3D in order to navigate their way through the game.

The latest RTS from Sierra, World in Conflict, is scheduled to be available this Thursday. World in Conflict is set in an alternate 1980s universe, which places you in control of US forces as they defend the continental United States against Soviet invaders. Aside from its single-player campaign, World in Conflict features a full-fledged 16-player multiplayer mode, which is fast and frantic. The game will be available in both standard and collector's edition forms. The collectors edition includes a bonus making-of-World in Conflict DVD, Modern Marvels: The Berlin Wall by The History Channel on DVD, and an authentic piece of the Berlin Wall. The standard edition of World in Conflict will be available for A$89.95 ($75.75) and the collector's edition will retail for A$109.95 ($92.59).

If you've been hanging out for Halo 3 and haven't had a chance to get an Xbox 360 yet, Microsoft has a new package to entice. For A$679.95 ($572.54), gamers will be able to pick up the limited edition Halo 3 Xbox 360. The new package ships with a Halo 3-themed console (that features HDMI), component cables, 20GB hard drive, wireless controller, play and charge kit, exclusive Xbox Live gamer pictures and themes, and a wired headset. Sadly, Halo 3 isn't included in the bundle, but it comes out next week on the 25th. The Halo 3 console goes on sale this Thursday.

One of the PlayStation 3's most anticipated titles this year, Heavenly Sword, will be making its debut this week. Often being compared to God of War, Heavenly Sword puts players in control of Nariko, a female warrior who is thought to be the only person who can fulfill her people's prophecy surrounding the Heavenly Sword. The game pits you against waves of enemies as you battle to save your clan from destruction by King Bohan and his army. Another high-profile game that comes out this week for the PlayStation 3 is Warhawk. Although it was released a few weeks ago for purchase over the PlayStation Network Store, it is coming out on Blu-ray this week and is bundled with a Jabra Headset. Both Heavenly Sword and the Warhawk bundle come out this Thursday.

You would think that if you spend a PREMIUM on a Halo 3 themed console, Microsoft would at least throw in the "basic" version of Halo 3. Well, I guess Microsoft didn't get as big as they are by giving away anything. What a joke!!!

I agree with ulti_ma, except maybe a little harsh on heavenly sword but gotta admit a 7 hour game with one chapter having no fighting at all isn't brilliant.

There's not a doubt that games like Super Paper Mario would do really good down under in sales.
