New DS colours and Pokemon adventures coming to Australia

Nintendo announces two new DS colour combos and new Pokemon games for Australia this June.

Australia loves Nintendo's DS handheld. Last year Aussie gamers snapped up more than half a million units, with the latest figures from Nintendo putting the total install base at over 1.1 million since the console was launched here in June 2006.

Nintendo Australia announced today that it would be bringing two new colour variations of its popular handheld to the Aussie region on June 19. The new colour combinations--black/red (crimson-and-onyx) and blue/black (cobalt-and-onyx)--have been available for some time in North America, but are only now finding their way to Australia. Nintendo did point out that the products, which will join the currently available four colours (polar white, black, ice blue, and pink) will be offered only for a limited time. No time frame was specified. The two new colours will carry a recommended retail price of A$199.95 ($191.20)

Nintendo also used the announcement to highlight the Australian launch date for its two new software products: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. Both will ship on June 19 this year. These two new games will put players in the action, transforming them into the Pokemon characters they most resemble through an in-game personality test. Exploration of the Pokemon world is key, with the goal being to find out why they have been turned into monsters, and to stop an evil that is spreading throughout the land.

i have the crimson/black one and when it's opened it's all black, so the only difference is on the outside where the top is crimson, hope that helps!

    Pokemon spin-offs need to die.

I wanna see what the new colours look like when they're not closed... I can't find any pictures.

I had a strange urge to play the older Pokemon games the other day. Alas, I have no Gameboy, and no Pokemon games to play if I did. Tried to find an emulator or some ROMs online, but it was taking too long and I was having too many problems, wasn't worth it. I think I'll just spend the next to nothing to buy it off eBay or from a friend.

As a side note, if Nintendo gave me a way to give them a reasonable amount of money for old Gameboy games, I wouldn't attempt to pirate them. But there is no way to buy them from Nintendo. Only way I could even play them was to buy them used, and that way Nintendo wouldn't be making money anyway, so what's the point?

How many new colors do nintendo plan on releasing??? I think they would do better if they release a design your own DS color online.

Bleh, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. Why don't they put out some good Pokémon games instead of wasting our time with Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, Battle Revolution, and Pokémon Diamond/Pearl part 3 (this actually will be alright if you never played one of the first two, but like all the other part 3's, it's a waste of time if you have)?

Ah bloody hell, bought my DS two weeks ago. I settled for black since Australia didn't have the cobalt/onyx one. Arrrg, annoyance.

I am glad i got a DS Phat since i don't care about colours. The Pokemon games should already been out here a month ago, not in 3 weeks time. Anyway, importing DS games is the only way to go.

Funny how despite being a universal device, something as simple as color takes forever to get around
