Justice League hits Nintendo portables

DC Comics' supergroup arrives this fall with a DS prequel to the console title and a GBA solo story featuring the Flash.

It was already known that Justice League Heroes was coming to save the day this fall, but today Eidos added two new members to its superheroic roster (no, not the Wonder Twins). Eidos has announced that it is working on Justice League Heroes for the Nintendo DS and Justice League Heroes: The Flash for the Game Boy Advance.

While it bears the same name as its console brethren, the DS game will actually be a prequel to those games and it will let players control Batman, Superman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman as they try to save the world from certain destruction. The game will feature stylus control, destructible environments, and heroic helpers like Aquaman and Green Arrow.

As for Justice League Heroes: The Flash, it naturally centers around the Fastest Man Alive, who will race through the game pummeling ne'er-do-wells, unlocking new combos, and slowing down time to get an advantage in battle. In keeping with the Justice League theme, Flash will be able to call in help from A-list heroes like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and others.

Both games are being developed by teams with previous heroic experience on Nintendo's portables. Justice League Heroes on the DS is being handled by Sensory Sweep Studios, which worked on the DS version of Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects. Justice League Heroes: The Flash is being developed by WayForward, which recently released X3: The Official Game on the GBA. Both games are due out alongside the console versions of Justice League Heroes this fall.

I like super heroes. I like Marvel and DC. But I hate all the damn games they make... couldn't they just make a lot less games but better ones?

doesn't look as good as marvel ultimate alliance and kinda lazy that they are skipping 360, ps3 and wii.

I think its gonna suck. GBA Is only good for Mario Advances, Sonic Advances, old Final Fantasy remakes, and CastleVanias. For the DS or psp it could be could, but they have the tendency to have stupid ideas for great characters when it comes to comic based characters or movie games based on comic book characters. Thus, making them games dumb.

There will be a PSP version of JLH. It's being developed by Snowblind - the same developer doing the PS2 & Xbox versions.

Awesome!! I was totally hoping they'd make one for the DS after I read that they had announced one for the PSP!!! But I was also hoping the Green Lantern would be playable or at least play a larger role in the game- even as Parallax. At least Green Arrow's in it though. I wonder if any side-kicks will be in the games? I a little worried about if the games will be good though. From what I've seen and heard, that GBA X-Men game was pretty bad, and from what I've read from earlier comments, the Rise of the Imperfects game was pretty bad too. And DC doesn't seem to be as successful at bringing their comics to movies and video games as Marvel is. But the console versions do look pretty sick. I'm hoping the DS version will be good though. I'm hella excited now!

Yeah, Rise of the Imperfects and X-3 stunk, but think of it this way, maybe third time's the charm? At least it's a company with prior DS experience, so we might get something more than a crappy console wannabe with touch screen menus.

I want to say I'm optimistic about the Justice League games but this deeply stinks of comic-book game. Wayforward isn't a bad developer though, X-Men 3 may have been a stinker but Sigma Star Saga came close to greatness.

Even though they will be different games the GB does not look like it will be doing good in the next year almost all GB players have switched to the DS.

One does not switch from the GBA to the DS. The DS has a GBA slot and the GBA has better games than the PSP & DS combined.

Every time I read X3: The Official Game, I think they're talking about a new version of X3: Reunion, why can't they say X-men 3?

Justice League Heroes on the consoles doesn't look half bad.
