Eragon cast reprise roles for game

Sienna Guillory, Robert Carlyle, Garrett Hedlund, Edward Speleers lend voices, likenesses to Sierra's fantasy game.

At this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sierra Entertainment announced that it was publishing a game based on the 20th Century Fox film Eragon. However, it was only today that the company revealed what most had anticipated--the film's cast members will provide the voices and likenesses for their digital counterparts.

Four actors from the film will reprise their big-screen roles in the action game. Newcomer Edward Speleers plays the title character who befriends a dragon and in turn becomes the last in a long line of dragon-riding knights. Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil: Apocalypse), Garrett Hedlund (Troy), and Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting) will also be featured in the game.

Eragon will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation Portable, DS, and PC on November 14, about one month before the film hits theaters. The game is rated T for Teen, except the GBA version, which is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older. For more information, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

The kid starting writing the book at 15. Thats about when most of you where figuring out what it meant to kiss a girl or trying to memorize the Konami Contra code!

The book is a fun book but it does have its flaws. The movie however... they completely changed the story and took it a diffrent direction. It isn't even similar by the end.

Sorry, but the book is shallow, derivative crap, and no wonder - it was written by a kid. I'll say this again, but no 17 year old can write such stories well. Being smart isn't enough - you need life experience to set the tone of a story.

The book tries to be LOTR, the movie is among the worst ever made, and the game is the most complete failure of them all. Yay for plagiarism!

Who cares??? This game is terrible, and the movie only wants to be like LOTR. Too bad they both fall way short of expectations.

Usually games based off good movies are bad, but what about a game based off an absolutely terrible movie like Eragon?
