    Its Free. (For gold members)
And you can win Arcade Games and/or Microsoft Points, up to 10.000 MS Points. (not Gamerscore/Achievements)

I could play 1 vs. 100, or Halo 3 and Killzone 2. I think the choice is obvious

"They wouldn't have such blatant advertising by sponsors if it was going to cost money to play."

Isn't that what makes games free to play is advertising?
    Genius.

    2. you can win achivements and points to buy stuff with

    3. to be "the one" you have to do well in "the mob"

You get a chance to win Gamerscore, no actual money is used to play (have to be a gold member though) and all you win is achievements.

I saw some cool footage of the Canadian Beta for this game. Looks really fun. I can't wait for it to come out. And for those that didn't know, it will be free to play for all Xbox Gold subscribers, it will run 13 week seasons and will be Live for 2 hours every Friday and Saturday with possible other days and times. Now, this is what i heard anyway, not sure if this is all set in stone.

No. This is free for all Xbox Live Gold members. Silver members can play, but only if they are logged in on the same Xbox as a Gold member who is playing.
