We celebrated the return of Duke Nukem after his 14-year long slumber in development hell last week, but gamers will have to press on forward to check out the successors to two other classic titles. The first one is Child of Eden, regarded by many as a spiritual sequel to on-rails "synaesthesia" shooter Rez. The game assigns players the task of saving Eden from a virus to restore hope and peace while experiencing a trippy art style that's set in high definition. The game will be out for the Xbox 360 and will have special Kinect controls.

The other successor is Alice: Madness Returns, the sequel to the 2000 action game American McGee's Alice on the PC. The story takes place 11 years after the first game where main heroine Alice now works in an orphanage. She now has to find out the mystery of her vague past, as well as save Wonderland from evil once again in action platforming fashion. The game features a varied art style and a different reinterpretation of the classic Alice in Wonderland setting created by writer Lewis Carroll. Gamers can start this odyssey when it hit shelves today on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Role-playing game fans can look forward to another sequel coming out this week: Dungeon Siege III. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, this action RPG will focus on a brand new story and feature offline and online drop-in and drop-out co-op modes. Players can look forward to hacking, slashing and loot hoarding this Friday on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Finally, gamers can check out the video game adaptation of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The game is developed by High Moon Studios, the people behind Transformers: War for Cybertron, so gamers can be assured that action and robot transforming will be the main focus of this shooter. While it shares the same moniker as the upcoming movie, the game's story takes place prior to the film. Fans of robots in disguise can buy this game today for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Other versions of the game are also out on the DS, 3DS, and Wii.
