NewsSpots: Looney Tunes, Vanguard, Lost Planet, Jericho

Warner Bros. games miss ship date; fantasy MMOG updated; Xbox 360 add-on for sci-fi shooter now gratis; God of War composer lends tunes to horror game.

Acme Arsenal, Duck Amuck bumped to October 9
Warner Brothers Interactive passed along word today that Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal and Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck have both been bumped back from their projected September 18 release date to October 9. Announced in January, Acme Arsenal is Warner Bros. latest action adventure featuring the likes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, and Marvin the Martian. Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older, it will be available on the Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 2. The Nintendo DS exclusive Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck is minigame compilation featuring the notoriously short-tempered Daffy Duck. It is rated E for Everyone.

Vanguard gets "user-friendly" update
As seems to be an ongoing occurrence in many massively multiplayer online games, Sigil's Vanguard: Saga of Heroes had more than a few bugs mucking up its code when it launched in January. However, also a regular occurrence in MMOGs is to receive multiple major updates after launch, and today Vanguard received its second. The focus of this most recent update is on amping up user-friendliness and adding new features. New to the game are guild halls and the brotherhood system, which allows for gaining experience points from allies even while an avatar is offline. Other additions include a streamlined quest journal and group-finding system, as well as a new feature that yields bonus experience through inactivity.

Lost Planet maps now free
Aptly released alongside the environmentally responsible Lumines Live! update, the third of three planned Lost Planet: Extreme Condition multiplayer map packs hit Xbox Live in June. As with the other two Lost Planet map packs, the third pack was slated to be available initially for 400 Microsoft points ($5), and then would become free sometime down the road. That date is today, as the map pack is now free for download on Xbox Live. Included in the 232MB download are three maps: Lost Technology, Ruins, and Ice Drop.

Velasco scores Jericho
Codemasters has announced that the composer of God of War and God of War II has been enlisted to score the upcoming horror action adventure Clive Barker's Jericho. Cris Velasco has previously worked on the score for such games as God of War, God of War II, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 4: Double Agent, and TMNT. Clive Barker called the music "exquisite." Jericho is coming to the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 this October, and has been rated by the ESRB as M for Mature.

I think it's good they bumped the Looney Tunes games, on a game like that they need to take their time to make sure they get it right. Definitely don't need to rush a game that can be so easily messed up.

"Chernnunos" FYI WoW is a based MMORPG PC game that is popular ONLY for that category. No games have to go by it and none have to

People will find out what else is out there besides WoW when they make a game that does everything WoW does, but does it BETTER. Right now, none do.

Patience is a virtue, my friends, and for us without Microsoft Points, it's paid off. Now I can download all those cool multiplayer maps. But if only my DNS settings were correct!!!

I hope vanguard can make a comeback..I really enjoyed that game, incredible graphics. Fast travel with low lvl mounts. Flying mounts that can go anywhere. A ton of classes and races.. People need to see what else is out there besides WoW..
