Dragonball Z makes DS debut

Atari's Supersonic Warriors 2 introduces tag-team three-on-three fighting to franchise in first installment for Nintendo's portable.

Apparently letting gamers take control of anime characters whose epic one-on-one battles could destroy small planets as collateral damage just wasn't enough for Atari, as the publisher has introduced three-on-three slugfests to the Dragonball Z series with its game.

Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 isn't just the first team-fighting installment of the series; it's the franchise's first appearance on the Nintendo DS. In addition to the new tag-battle gameplay, Supersonic Warriors 2 lets players play through plotlines from the show, as well as new what-if scenarios. The game also features more than 20 playable characters, free battle, practice, and Z Battle modes, and touch-screen functionality that lets players call in help from their teammates.

Dragonball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2 was developed by Cavia (Drakengard, Resident Evil: Dead Aim), is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older, and retails for $29.99. Check out GameSpot's hands-on impressions from the Tokyo Game Show for more.

I don't personally know how people can't like DBZ - I mean if you've seen the un-cut version then its amazing, But who doesnt like blood and strong violence with people getting batterd and arms being blown off - its got godo voice actors, i mean sometimes the story did drag on a bit - but violence is the way to go. lol, The game i think is awesome, unless you count the crappy amount of characters. however i like the map count. Good game, Awesome concept - bad character selection, and also - it is impossible to start a new game. the creators forgot to add that in =/

This isn't technically the first team fighting DBZ game. First off, most obviously, Supersonic Warriors on GBA had the exact same tag-battle format. Second, and less obvious, DBZ: Legends on the Saturn was the first DBZ game to allow control of 3 fighters at once.

People people come on now i think we can all agree that when american TV gets hold of any anime they somehow make it horrible.
But i agree that Bleach and Naruto are great (i read the manga though i tried watching the Naruto on TV and i nearly cried, and same with Rave Master but now i download Naruto episodes dubbed into english any fan should do it!).
But DBZ is good to just not on american TV, and i have to say GT did really blow it was a dissapointment.

Who's developing it, in the article it said Cavia but in the game's summary it's said Banpresto ? From what I know Banpresto did a very well done job in making DB games for GBA (DB Adventures and Supersonic warriors), while Atari make a so-so in GBA, Budokai series is quite fun tho'.
Hope it would be good, oh and don't ditch DBZ with all its lackness, DB could be considered one of anime's classic, it wouldn't be weird that it lose to other current anime trend. U might not like it but I believe many fighting anime mostly inspired from DB, like Naruto or Bleach .

Bleach beats the hell out of both Dragonball Z And Naruto at the same time, but all three shows are good. Regarding the game, i think it`s going to be ok. But nothing special.

Hey Guys, this not the show shup. So anybody who enjoys fighting games play this? The first one was kick ass and now there is tag-team fighting ala Capcom Vs SNK. I think it may be a different developer than the original. Sucks no WiFi, but I'm sure you'll be able to local with one cart. I'll link a review when I find one. I don't know if gamespot will.
