Chronos Twins time-warp to DS

Temporal-twisting game announced for Nintendo's split-screen handheld; different time periods shown on both screens.

Lexicon Entertainment today announced that it has attained the worldwide publishing rights to Chronos Twins for the Nintendo DS. The original intellectual property currently has an early-2007 release date in Europe; Lexicon has not yet announced any North American release. The game adds a twist to time travel. As gamers explore the land with a present-day hero, they will not have to revisit the same area in two different times; instead, both screens will show the same setting during two eras. Lexicon will also release American McGee's Bad Day: LA in Europe.

I've been wondering where this game had gone for ages. Lots of comments were made about how suitable it would be for the DS, when it was announced and shown on the GBA. I'm glad they've gone back and reworked the game for the DS, and hopefully the game will live up to the very promising first impressions!

Lots of whining about no Crono and no Chrono Trigger. I want more Chrono Trigger, too. I also know that chrono means dealing with time or the passage thereof. I guess all of you guys perk up when you discuss the chronology of history because it has 'chrono' right there in the front. Let it be known that I also crave a Chrono Trigger on my DS and not a Chrono Cross.

I love the concept of this game. It may be flawed in some respects but it sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I wonder how the future will end up affecting the past or if it is a one way relationship.

Aw man! I wanted to play some Chrono Cross for the DS! Oh well. We can hope. Miracles can happen. Or I can buy a PSP and then there would be some chance.

Argh, that title is totally trying to trick people into thinking it's Chrono Trigger related.

Cmon, how cool would that be for a Chrono Trigger game!?!?

How could you people think for half a second that this would be Chrono Trigger related? That's just ignorant! This game was announced for the GBA just before the DS was first shown to the public... I've been waiting for this thing for ages, and when it dissappeared from the radar we all knew it would be for the DS... I couldn't be happier!! Each screen will show a different time period, and whatever you do in one time period effects the other in real time... I hope it lives up to the promice - they've had enough time to develope it!!

To you people who fret about us who love Chrono Trigger. It is only obvious that when we see something about 'Chrono' in headlines that we are going to hope that it is something to do with what most people agree to be one of the best if not the greatest rpg of all time. So when we actually take a look and realize it's not Chrono Trigger related we are going to be disapponted and voice are views as such. Now as that portion of my comment has been dealt with I may continue. This Chronos twins thing sounds interesting in theory. I wish to see it in practice though.(By the way if you visit a place you have been before in a different time period, it is still travelling through time as you had to travel back through the eras and whats not to get there duh!)

Lol, I'll admit I clicked on this article in the remote hope that it was something Chrono Trigger/Cross related, being a big fan of both. Although I realised before I did that it being Chronos with an S made it unlikely.

Be that as it may, it sounds like a pretty cool game, and one I'll definitely keep an eye on as more details are announced.

Why do you judge it so early AND why do you compare it to Chrono Trigger? It sounds completely unrelated to CT, and the difference in times sounds completely different from that of CT, too. While CT was themed around time travel, barely anything you did really made any difference in reference to time. It was basically traveling to different worlds that were themed around time periods rather than actually traveling through time.

And the name Chronos does not relate it to CT nor is it copying CT. The root "chrono" just means TIME... it wasn't like CT created "chrono" or something. This game is about being in two different time periods, so it is only natural for it to have some kind of TIME word in its name. Comparing it to CT is like saying every game with SUPER in it should be exactly like Super Mario, and if it's not, it's a horrible game. wtf?!?!

Shame it's not Chrono Trigger, but if it's as nearly a good game as it i'll get it no doubt.

I'm baffled. Do the lot of you leave random comments about every game saying "it's not Chrono Trigger so it sucks!"

Umm...yeah, it has nothing to do with Chrono Trigger. Neither does Madden 07. Neither Does Zelda: Twilight Princess. What's your point?

The concept of this game sounds very intriguing. Just a matter of execution.

What looks cool about this game is that your character is in the same location on both screens. If you look at some of the images, the word "danger" is highlighted in red on the top screen, and sometimes it is highlighted in red on the bottom screen. So instead of having to pay attention to both areas at the same time, you can focus on the screen that has your dude on the verge of being kilt.

Seems like a neat concept, I wonder if the "danger" sign will ping-pong back and forth really fast at certain parts of the game of if it will be kinda slow.
