From Day 2 of GameSpot's Live Stage Show, we bring you a demo of Driver San Francisco
your supposed to be a driver and first time u can actually be one
What? so you can't get out of your vehicle and switch, but you can do some paranormal crap? that doesn't look very appealing, they should have just let you be able to get out of the car...
lorenzojkt the Q's mean the seasons so Q4 is winter i think lol
im battling some jackass about his wheelchair on his blog
@SollidSnake_ Its still WIP so dont start whining.
where is that?
whats a Q4 2010? i mean wheres the date?
when will the game relesed?
Judging by the new feature called shift, Driver: San Francisco has clearly abandoned the on-foot gameplay that has made it into a GTA clone. Because of all the hate and criticism derived from D3 and DPL, it looks like Ubisoft Reflections has taken the Driver franchise back to its driving roots, particularly that of Driver 1. This seems like a promising driving experience. Besides, Parallel Lines and Driv3r were hardly offered good on-foot gameplay. And I do not think that many open-ended games can take on Rockstar North's GTA franchise, so this was a very bright move that Ubisoft Reflections made. Games like GTA, Mafia, and True Crime never really offered good driving. It felt nowhere near as good as that of the Driver franchise. They were and will remain mostly focused on the on-foot experience. With that said, I think that you should be able to see why DSF is what it is. Nonlinear games these days are too full of variety anyways, making them too time-consuming, let alone too impatient for many gamers (like me, for instance) to continue playing for a long time. And even though DSF is an open-ended game, I feel a lot more comfortable playing it, since it doesn't take on too broad of a scope. I loved D1, which felt a lot like a racing game, and I welcome this new addition to the Driver franchise.
Driver 2 was awesome back in the day. Best racing crime game before Gta 3.
finally a good driver game have been w8 for a good driver game since the 2nd came out
I hope that this game lets you record and edit the car chases like in the first Driver. I remember spending so much time trying to make the perfect chase scene.

This is as close i can get to 70' challenger for now. I just pray the sound is crisp or it could break the experience.
Cannot wait.
poor graphics
He says it's also on PC, why does Gamespot say only 360 and PS3? EDIT: I've posted on the support forum and now they've fixed it.
Loved all the Driver games. Considering how good this game looks I'll buy if for sure but if you can't even get out of the car I won't bother even buying this one.
Nice going back to it's roots, cause driver went downhill with 3 and so on.
I'm following this one. I didn't mean to get sucked into the very 1ST one - low res as it was for the times - and I was! So if it's in keeping with original then I'm down for a spin ....
I think this would of been an awesome PSP game, but not as much for console.
I HATE the lights trailing off the back of the cars. It looks crap! I hated the shift thing to start with too, but now I know the reason behind it it's not too bad. If it's compatible with the steering wheel, it'll be great fun. But I don't think it'll be the best Driver ever made.
All i care about is Tanner, i didn't even bother to play the other games without him, cool that its coming to ps3!
I know it's called Driver, but is the entire game played in a car? Or can your character get out and run around like in GTA?
Nope looks just as bad ass the last one, now with a new view.
Why no PC version?
how come the live videos play smoothly but the not live ones run so bad its unwatchable
The in car view looks cool... not that I'd use it
The last Driver game i remember playing was Driver3.

the driving in cockpit view looks absolutely terrific! cant wait to get this game. i always loved the driver series. though, driver 1 und 2 were the best. i actually liked driver 2 the most.
yeah i love how they cut the gameplay footage during the climax.... great work as always gamespot.
Tanner back!
This looks GREAT! Back to its roots indeed!
