Forget Driv3er gameeer or whatever it was called THIS is a real DRIVER GAME!.
With the almost disastrous outing that was Driv3r it seemed that all hope was lost for the once genre defining Driver series. This is a TRUE Driver game in every respect and Reflections learned from its mistakes with Driv3r and seemingly corrected almost everything that was bad about that game and has improved and built upon just about every aspect of both the driver series and the "sandbox/GTA" type gameplay in many ways. Driver Parallel lines is the best Driver yet and one of the more solid "sandbox" type games on the now last gen systems.
Graphics: The graphics are very good on both PS2/Xbox 1 with nice detail great car models for a game of this type. This game has what is most likely the best representation of New York on the PS2/Xbox with great atmosphere especially in the 70's decade.
Gameplay: Driver:Parallel lines has what has got to be the best car and driving physics of any "GTAclone" with a good variety of cars trucks and motorcycles that are slightly customizable in the in game garage. The on foot action is good and the targeting system works well at least faaaar better than the old GTA3 in previous GTA games. The storyline: the storyline is average but has great voice acting and excellent cut scenes that are beautifully rendered and have a very high quality "Goodfellas" feel to them.
The only true drawback is a lack of variety wich both GTA and Scarface excelled at. There are a number of side-missions including original stuff like repoman missions in wich you use a towtruck to "repo" cars for money but the game just doesnt have the overall replay value or variety that a game like Scarface does.
Overall this is one of the best "sandbox/GTA" type games out there along with Scarface (the best) and the Godfather. I recommend this game to any fan of the Driver series and highly recommend it to those that were disappointed with Driv3r. Driver Parallel Lines is the REAL Driver 3.
