Virtua Athlete Release Set

Find out when you can expect Sega's track and field game on store shelves in the US.

GameSpot can now reveal that Virtua Athlete 2K for the Sega Dreamcast will be released in September in the US. As reported yesterday, Agetec will handle the publishing duties for the US market. It is expected that an official announcement will be made sometime next week.

On a related note, Agetec representatives told GameSpot that it "will not be bringing Fighter Maker to the Dreamcast." The game was listed as a year-2000 Dreamcast release in the latest Sega of Japan Dream Information pamphlet. Because Agetec is publishing the PlayStation version of Fighter Maker, it was speculated that the company would publish the US Dreamcast version as well.

ASCII is developing Fighter Maker for the Dreamcast.
