THPS 2 Ships for the Dreamcast and the GBC
Activisions ships the latest incarnations of its Tony Hawk's Pro Skater sequel.
Activision has shipped Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Sega Dreamcast and the Nintendo Game Boy Color. The game lets players skate with 13 pros, including Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Steve Caballero, Kareem Campbell, Rune Glifberg, Eric Koston, Bucky Lasek, Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska, Andrew Reynolds, Geoff Rowley, Elissa Steamer, and Jamie Thomas. Among the additions to this year's version is a skatepark editor. In the Dreamcast version of the game, the real-time 3D editor allows players to customize every turn, jump, ramp, and half-pipe.
"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is the definitive action sports video game and has set a new benchmark for all future games in the genre," stated Dave Stohl, executive producer, Activision Studios. "In bringing the game to the Dreamcast and the Game Boy Color, Activision reinforces its position as a leader in leveraging marquee brands across multiple gaming platforms."
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Dreamcast carries a suggested retail price of US$44.99. The Game Boy Color version retails for $29.99. The Dreamcast version was developed by Treyarch, and the GBC version was developed by the Japanese company Natsume.
