You'll keep coming back for more!
I am currently 20-40 hours through the game. And what a joy it has been playing it! The game itself strays from convention itself. You need not go past the title screen to see what I mean - contemporary Rock music in a fantasy game? But who cares!? IT WORKS! This entire game is underrated and simply needs to be known and spread.
The game-world is large enough to keep you busy, since there is "naught" faster means of travel then your own feet. But, this allows you to explore every avenue of the world and fight every foe along the way to your destination: as fighting every foe is important for your pawn/follower.
Some gamers have claimed that the single-file save system is what brings the game down. But I think it makes it makes it better! You make a mistake or do something dumb you'll pay the consequences having to play on the remainder of the game with that mistake. And not reload it 4-5 times until you get it right. That is until you start your new game+. That's right it's a Capcom game (published and developed), and you get to carry on your save file!
Fantastic character customisation: making him/her too big; too long; too weighty; too skinny, can have positive and negative effects. This game is a fantastic mix of traditional Western RPG elements with a fantastic blend of Japanese core gameplay.
A few grammatical errors and SOME sub-par dialogue would annoy most grammar Nazi's and pedants - but I couldn't give two sh!ts about that myself.
I am an honest gamer, and have tried to find reasons to bring it down from a 10/10 score. But I can't! It's a game, and it's fantastic. It needs to be played, and you should do yourself a favour and buy this game. I need to be realistic however, and remove my biased love for the game and give it a final 9.5/10.
