Like adventure and killing giant monsters? Then Dragon's Dogma is for you!

When I first heard of Dragon's Dogma I was not really impressed by the game because I thought it would be another generic RPG game with a stupid plot and boring game play. Then I started watching more videos about DD and I started growing an interest on the game. Finally came out on May 22 2012 and I bought it out of curiosity, I started with low expectations and by the first level I was hooked (the title screen for the game didn't even show up yet!. It was like a tutorial)

With no BS I just want to say this game is difficult but in a good way. While not as punishing as Demon's Souls it is still quite difficult if you are not prepared for battle. Like any good RPG's there is a lot to explore. The main area in which you travel is Gransys and wow it is pretty huge. To travel from one end to the other will take you at least 1 hour and a half (battling monsters all along the way) This is because there is no fast travel like in the Elder scrolls series. Although there is this gem that you can use to fast travel to the main city but even then it's a one time use.

combat is fast and fluid, albeit a little repetitive but with tons of customization you can learn new skills and use different attacks and tactics (9 classes in total)

There is also a interesting system that Dragon's Dogma uses, since there is NO multiplayer in Dragon's Dogma what capcom tried to do is this system called "PAWNS" and these paws are like your sidekicks, you get a main pawn in which you create yourself and you get two additional pawns that are borrowed from other players. So if you have friends who have the game you can play with their pawns so it's like playing with your friends but they're all NPC.

So far the only negative thing I can say for this game is that the main story lacks focus, you get many side quest which can last quite a while and because of this you get distracted from your main goal (Hunting the dragon that stole your heart!)

All and all Dragon's Dogma is a great game with some minor flaws. If you are up for a great adventure hunting dragons, chimeras, ogres etc. And you don't mind getting down and dirty then DD is the game for you. I'm sure if you give it time this will be one of those games that no one played.

I'm already hoping for a sequel and I'm not even done with the game, this is the direction i want to see RPG's going towards. They should focus on game play that can hook a player in and giving a large area in which to explore.

my final verdict is a

8.5 out of 10. Great game, pick it up!
