Is it impossible unless I bring a ranger or something similar? Took its floating energy thingies by humping them on fire, but there's one in the center of the room at the top. It is immune to my bow. My pawns are stupid and don't aim for it.

You'll have to climb the Golem and hope it moves close enough for you to jump at the medal. I have found that even the dumbest pawn will shoot the medal if you stand and swing under it long enough. You can try the "help" and "go" commands as well.
But, yeah, that's one serious game design flaw.

If you have an archer pawn, try to ensure its inclinations are Utilitarian/Mitigator. I had a similar issue with metal golems before, but now, my alt's ranger pawn shoots down the high amulet almost immediately with those inclinations. Try to avoid stuff like Scather and Challenger since those usually make the pawn target the metal golem blindly.

This ^. My other half once ran across a metal golem with a party of a warrior, two casters and a magic archer. It took 40 minutes to get the last floating disk by repeatedly climbing onto golem's head and jump-attacking the medal. I've never seen such stubborn determination before. It was epic to watch, felt like the most badass boss fight ever.

Well I have a Sorceror lol. But if yours is smart enough to do this, I may just hire your guy. Unless he's insanely over-leveled compared to me like most Pawns seem to be here.

If I didn't do scratch damage with anything I do that actually harms them, I'd maybe do this. Could be fun, but with my strength, would be tedius.

If you wanna hire my alt pawn Mikyuu for metal golem hunting, my alt psn is PataChaka. As for her level, she's currently 95 (left her there for now, so she can be found by randoms more easily). Not sure if you'd consider that overlevelled, but she shouldn't totally break your game, I think :p

Yah, I would. That's like double my level.
Crisis averted anyways, I just changed class and shot the damned thing.
