But I'm fine with this I guess. I just hate not having a full screen.

Dark Arisen is just an expansion, right? I was under the impression there's a full sequel in the works... did I misunderstand?

A few outdated articles (dated 2012) did confirm a sequel, but I haven't found any recent news about it lately. Hopefully after the release of Dark Arisen, Capcom will start posting new information about the sequel soon.
Here is one article confirming the sequel.

A steampunk setting would be nice, or maybe make it a sci fi, taking the theme of DD (maker, grigori, Arisen & pawns) & combining it with the retro futurism of the Arthur C clarke novels.

I'm hoping for Co-Op, The ability to play with friends was the only thing I felt was lacking in the first game. The Pawn system is cool and all but taking down big monsters with friends is awesome

Looks like the sequel is "Deep Down" on the PS4. I didn't know of Dragon's Dogma, but after watching its gameplay and the Deep Down video on PS4, they are basically the same.

A technical video and gameplay of another game =/= basically the same
they stated its a new IP
I would like to see DD continue on with a lot of sequels, I would also like to see another RDR sequel and like a billion other games get sequels... and just as many die before they get the chance for one

I actually would prefer them to scrap the Dragon's Dogma series and merge it with Monster Hunter series.
Dragon's Dogma needed more skill involved and Monster Hunter need more RPG in my RPG.

as long as they don't half-ass the co-op I would welcome a merger, but either way I love the dragons dogma combat system

I agree.
It would be interesting because I see the pawn system being very useful for another item gathering method for Monster hunter.
Also the crafting was greatly lacking from Dragon's Dogma, so the Monster Hunter system would correct that.
Now the downside of course is that Monster Hunter fans will get cranky at the idea of leveling and Dragon's Dogma's fan will get cranky at the need to dodge/roll/strike your way to happiness.
I also think the open world would be great for Monster Hunter
It really does strike me though that Dragon's Dogma started out as the sequel for Monster Hunter, especially looking at the core mechanics, before they branched it off.
*I also liked the aethetitcs of the monsters better in Dragon's Dogma vs Monster Hunter. Although Rath, Diablos, and a few others are still better.

DD looks more like the concept art for MH. MH was originally far more fantasy inspired, with zombie and armored dragons, before they settled on the setting they picked.
MH is fine the way it is, but DD could use some element from MH. Namely, a good online mode (not just co op, but a separate mode with new quests/enemies/everything that's balanced so as to give a party of level 200 minmaxers a run for their money), a real crafting system, limited healing, and more balanced/viable endgame equipment and builds.

Yeah, but killing dinosaurs wasn't too shabby a choice on their part!
I'm actually a little suprised one of the Monster Hunter monster's didn't make a cameo at least though.
It would've been interesting to see a Rathian/Ratholos Drake (Dragon) show up, just for the nod.
