Great game, amazing visuals, simplistic design

First off, the game is great, I personally love it to death, and the $50 price tag for a coop online and offline multiplayer beat em up, that's definitely good enough for me.

The first thing you notice is the amazing art style, everything is hand drawn in standard vanillaware style (odin sphere, muramasa) and it really makes you love the game more because everything is so exaggerated and awesome. The character models are awesome and pleasing to look at, yes there is a GIGANTIC titted sorceress you can play as but the other characters are more normal. Amazon is a beefy chick with huge hips and buns, dwarf is a hulking mass of destruction, wizard is the most normal out of all of them, elf is your standard elf from any game but also the most fun to play as, and warrior is a standard warrior. All of the characters play differently and have perks that you can alter to how you prefer to play. Want to be a powerhouse of death that gets stronger as you lose life? go for it. want to be mainly support, hang in the back and sling spells. It's all fun, every character is fun to play.

The game is relatively long but does make you redo each level at least once in order to finish side quests you get AFTER the main quest is done in that area. kind of a pain in the ass but it doesnt kill ya to do it, you level up anyway and get more loot.

The party system works great and you can add 3 bots to help you out if you like, I prefer working alone but the game automatically gives you a bot helper if you go into a dungeon alone and more of them come out as you progress through areas so you arent allowed to adventure alone, which kind of sucks but eh whatever. The bots are dumb as hell however. They will stand in flames, on spike traps, in the path of enemy fire, and die often, you are not penalized for their faults thankfully. The most annoying thing they do is kill enemies that for some quests require you to deflect their attacks or get hit by them but before you can do so, they will have killed the monster, and you cant order them not to move (patch please?)

The loot system is fine, but flawed. You get unidentified items in the dungeons but then have to appraise them afterwards and this costs cash, you can sell the unidentified items but usually you want to see what they are first, this should not be in the game at all, theres no reason for it, gimme my loot and let me sell it as i see fit. If its an epic item then sure let me spend some cash to check it out, but for a pair of boots that does nothing at all, i dont want to pay to identify it.

There is a weird little pointer thing that you move with the right joystick to find hidden items and runes in each level, its ok but is annoying when you are in the middle of a battle and this little hand pops up. Clicking all the little glowing spots for treasure gets tedious.

As a whole this game is great, it's a fun, multiplayer brawler that brings us back to the days of turtles in time and the x-men game. I definitely recommend it for everyone
